Chapter 326 Let’s Settle This In Surgery
Half an hour later, Sloane updated her Twitter: “Thanks to Dr. Bonnie for the invitation. But medicine is about compassion; instead of performing acupuncture on stage, it’s better to actually help people. Three days from now, I’ll be volunteering at the oncology department of Joravia Children’s Hospital, treating critically ill children. I sincerely invite Dr. Bonnie to join me, and let’s see whose skills truly speak for themselves. A real doctor proves themselves through results.”
The attached photo showed the children’s oncology ward-a row of beds with kids’ innocent smiles shining especially bright.
Jill’s eyes widened. “Sloane, you’re…”
“She wants the spotlight and applause; I want to heal people,” Sloane said calmly. “If we’re competing, then let it be on real ability.”
The tweet hit the internet like a bomb, igniting an instant firestorm. The comments section exploded:
“This is what a true doctor looks like!”
“Support Dr. Rivers! Way better than flashy tricks!”
“Does Dr. Bonnie dare accept?”
Soon after, Stonebridge Children’s Hospital reposted and issued a statement:
“We welcome both doctors to volunteer at our hospital. The entire process will be livestreamed, so the public can witness genuine medical skill and compassion.”
Bonnie stared at Sloane’s tweet on her phone, her fingers pressing so hard it seemed like she might crush the screen. The elaborate trap she had laid through a TV variety show had been effortlessly deflected, twisted into a charitable event instead.
“Damn it!” She hurled the phone onto the sofa and paced the length of the luxury suite. Outside, the Stonebridge night gleamed with neon, casting shifting shadows across her stormy face.
After a long silence, she stopped, pulled out her phone, and dialed the only number saved in it.
“The plan’s changed,” she muttered, voice low, her nails unconsciously scratching at the phone’s edge. “Sloane didn’t take the bait; she wants to move the contest to the children’s hospital.”
A mechanical voice filtered through an electronic distorter on the other end, “As expected. If she were that easy to trap, she wouldn’t have been chosen as the next successor of Medicine Valley.”
Under the light, the scar cutting across Bonnie’s right eyebrow looked even more sinister. “What now? Those critically ill kids, I can’t possibly…”
“Why panic?” the voice cut her off “I’ll handle the hospital, you just play your part. Tomorrow morning, someone will deliver a blue medicine case to your place.”
A flicker of hesitation crossed Bonnie’s eyes. “You’re sure she’ll fall for it?”
“Are you doubting me?” The mechanical voice gave a cold laugh. “Don’t forget who remade you-who

The call ended abruptly. Dr. Bonnie stood before the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing down at Stonebridge’s dazzling skyline. Her wineglass reflected a twisted version of her face. She tilted her head back and drained it in one gulp; crimson liquid dripped from the corner of her mouth.
“Sloane… oh, Sloane,” her eyes burned with madness, “this time, I’ll see you ruined.”
When Lucas saw Dr. Bonnie’s response, he was about to go to Sloane, but Andrew came in with news, Peak Corp’s president had finally agreed to meet him.
For the past three years, Lucas had been working with Peak Corp on a robotics project. The collaboration had gone smoothly; their sixth-generation robots had even been used in military training.
Lucas had requested several times to meet the company’s president, but each time he had been told the man was out of the country. So why suddenly agree to meet now?
While Lucas hesitated, Andrew added, “Peak Corp said their president only has one hour to spare.”
