**Bonfire 502**
**Chapter 502: Making Up for Lost Time**
Sloane had only just taken her first bite of the fluffy pancake when her mother, Beth, leaned in with a sparkle in her eyes. “Is it good? Is it sweet enough? Do you want more honey?” Her enthusiasm was palpable, a mother’s instinct to ensure her daughter’s happiness.
“Mom, I can get it myself…” Sloane protested lightly, a hint of exasperation in her tone.
But before she could finish her sentence, Tony burst into the kitchen as if he had been waiting for the perfect moment. He was holding three jars of honey, each from a different exotic locale, his excitement contagious. “This one is… uh…” he fumbled, clearly overwhelmed by his own enthusiasm.
“Overseas,” Shawn chimed in from the doorway, leaning casually against the frame, arms crossed. “I had them air-freighted overnight just for you, Sloane. Now you can choose your favorite flavor.” His smirk hinted at the lengths they’d gone to make this breakfast special.
After they finished their meal, Beth whisked Sloane away to the walk-in closet, her eyes gleaming with excitement. The entire wall was now a vibrant display of the latest haute couture, all meticulously arranged. “Look at this one! Perfect for the banquet… And this one? It’s just right for your upcoming dates…” Beth’s hands danced over the fabrics, her voice bubbling with delight. “Oh! And I picked this swimsuit just for you! We’re going to have the best time next month…”
Just then, Tony strolled in, arms laden with shoeboxes. “Sweetheart, you have to try this pair! I heard all the young girls are raving about this brand now!” He squatted down, ready to assist her in putting on the shoes, his eagerness evident.
“Dad!” Sloane felt her cheeks flush with embarrassment as she sidestepped him. “I can do it myself, really…”
Beth’s eyes widened suddenly, a gasp escaping her lips. “Oh no! I completely forgot to get hair accessories!” Without missing a beat, she reached for her phone, dialing her assistant with urgency. “Have Cartier send over their entire new-season collection of hairpins! Yes, all of them! I want Sloane to be the most stunning at the banquet!”
At lunchtime, Sloane walked into the dining room and was taken aback. The entire space had been transformed; the table and chairs were now adorned in her favorite shade of light blue, creating a serene atmosphere. Just then, the chef wheeled in a cart overflowing with all her beloved dishes, a feast fit for a queen.
“I asked your master…” Beth explained softly, a proud smile gracing her lips. “I wanted to know what you love to eat, so I made sure everything was just right for you…”
Later that afternoon, Tony mysteriously beckoned Sloane towards the garage, a twinkle of mischief in his eyes. “You have to see this! It’s a surprise I’ve prepared just for you!” He flung open the garage door to reveal a gleaming pink custom sports car, its license plate reading “SUXI-520.”
“Wow! This is too extravagant!” Sloane exclaimed, her heart racing with disbelief.
