The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL] novel Chapter 768

Chapter 768: The Mail Room Riot

Then again, maybe that would not be a good idea, when, aside from facing the wrath of several heavily invested figures, doing so would invite the ire of one unexpected cadet.

Jax.

As in Jackson Taylor, an intensely devoted plant parent who would absolutely be willing to go behind bars for a cabbage head.

Yes, him.

Because said cadet, who had recently been given a renewed purpose in life, was now busy creating his magnum opus with a partially traumatized Theo, who initially didn’t think it would be that bad.

Then again, the young pharmacist still believed he was doing better than Noah, who was currently out there learning how to make swirls with a trembling hand.

How could such a thing even be done?

More than that, how could such a thing be harder than using knives and piloting a mecha?

Noah felt his knees shaking with every attempt, terrified of wasting ingredients. But when the uncertain trainee glanced to his side to see how the others were doing, he was surprised to find a few... creative designs.

He blinked. Then he leaned a little closer.

"That’s a nice flower," Noah said softly, genuinely meaning it as he looked at Ollie’s mug.

Instead of celebrating, the blonde lifted his trembling chin and stared at Noah with a wobbling lip.

"It’s a star! A star!"

"Oh," Noah said, eyes widening as he looked at the cup again. Then he turned it a bit. Then the other way. Then upside down.

It still did not look like a star.

He wanted to ask how the star had become possessed, but with Ollie looking like he might explode into tears at any moment, Noah quickly said, "Very artistic... and very imaginative." His gruff voice turned as gentle as Noah could muster after imagining that he was talking to a cornered bomb.

Ollie sniffled and nodded, accepting this.

Noah slowly turned toward Luca next. Because surely, with that guy’s skills, he was bound to see something interesting, right?

Well, it was definitely interesting.

But just to be safe, he decided to observe first.

After going through so many things in the past few months, he had already figured out how it would be better to learn as fast as possible from his mistakes.

This time, he examined the pattern carefully. It had a bell shape. Smooth. Very smooth. He felt confident this time.

"Luca, how did you make a mushroom?" Noah asked.

The reaction was instant.

Luca looked up at him. Then down at his cup. Then up again. His expression cracked in real time.

"This one... this one is Tortie."

Noah blinked.

Luca looked demolished. Three attempts, hours of effort, and apparently none of them resembled the guardian tortoise in any known universe.

But before the frazzled Noah could think of something comforting to say, something else caught Luca’s eye.

Noah’s cup.

Inside, sitting proudly on the surface, was a legitimate-looking fern. Symmetrical. Sharp. Alive. It actually looked similar to the material they were using as a reference!

The wilted guild master came back to life.

"You got it!" Luca shouted, abandoning his tragic Tortie to grab Noah’s wrist and show the others.

Within seconds, everyone crowded around him.

They congratulated him. They praised the fern. Someone even clapped him on the back so hard he nearly swallowed his own tongue. Noah tried to smile, but he did not understand what was happening.

Then he noticed Princess Kira’s mug.

There was barely anything left inside it. The foam art had been scraped clean. And her grin was suspicious.

In fact, as he glanced around, it became horrifyingly clear that among all their attempts, his fern was the best.

The best.

His soul shrank in terror.

No. No, no, no. With the looks he was getting and how they were crowding around him, they couldn’t possibly be serious, right?!

They can’t seriously be thinking—

Oh hell no!

He screamed internally, face frozen in twitching horror as everyone continued cheering around him.

But as if to cement the issue, Ollie tugged on his sleeve and whispered, "Noah, do you want to exchange assignments? I can take that, and you can greet the guests. I swear, if I practice for the remaining days, I’d be able to get it." said the blonde who was confident because he’d once passed that major history exam.

However, Noah paled instantly.

Just imagining having to deal with that many people would drive him crazy.

Absolutely not.

"Fine, fine! I’ll take care of it," Noah said quickly, clutching his mug like a shield. "I’ll do it!"

Because if not this, then would he be expected to do the even crazier tasks?

__

Xavier, for one, was currently neck-deep in learning and reading Luca’s books while trying to dodge one persistent little princess who was attempting to convince everyone that the imperial family should also be able to visit her brothers’ booth.

It was a crisis, obviously.

Little Nina had been forced to stay back and watch as everyone fought valiantly during the Zone Four deployment.

And now she was being told that while she would definitely be able to visit the booth, the length of her stay would depend entirely on the official schedule.

The horror.

Of course, the rule was meant to show that the Empire was not being partial to anyone. But if it were like that, then would she not miss all the good things she kept seeing in the dungeon space?

But who knew that one little girl’s struggle would echo through the hearts of so many?

Oh. Right. Kyle.
