Cynthia was surrounded by a group of people clinking glasses and making toasts.

Briar looked up–ran into someone she knew.

The young man standing in front of her was dressed super casually white tee, jeans, a loose jacket over it, and sneakers.

He stood out like a sore thumb next to all the dolled–up wannabe celebrities in the room.

But with a face that good–looking–basically flawless–it was hard in focus on what he was wearing.

“Hey, Ronan. What a coincidence. Briar spoke lazily.

Come to think of it, the only person in the Shepherd family who had never shown her any malice was this so–called older brother.

Roman was six years older than her. When she returned to the country four years ago, he was already making a name for himself in the entertainment industry. He’d only managed to show up at home briefly that day.

A few months later, Jack, their grandfather, got seriously ill. As the eldest son of the Shepherd family, Ronan gave up his inheritance rights without hesiuation

Jack had held 282 of the company shares. Ten percent went to Martin, eighteen to Briar. Ronan didn’t take a dime.

Sure, Ronan had never done her wrong–but that was it. Briar had never felt any real bond with him.

At best, they were just familiar strangers.

But when Ronan heard her say that, a vein actually popped on his forehead.

Ronan reached out and grabbed her wrist. “Come home with me. Do Mom and Dad even know you’re here? Aren’t they supposed to be watching you?”

Caught off guard, Briar was yanked off the couch. “Let go of met” she said.

“You-“Ronan forced himself to calm down. “You’re still a kid. There’s a lot you don’t understand. Just listen to me and come home

Ronan doubled down, his voice firm. “I don’t care about anything else right now You’re coming home with me!”

Just then, Elijah–Ronan’s agent–noticed the commotion and rushed over “What’s going on?” he asked.

Elijah had just asked the question when his eyes landed on Briar’s stunning face.

With his years of experience in the industry, Elijah could tell right away–if Briar debuted, she’d blow up. She could easily match Ronan, if not

outshine him.

But Elijah’s expression quickly changed. “Wait who is she?”

‘Could she be some girl Ronan is secretly involved with? Elijah thought.

That’d be a PR disaster. Dating rumors were deadly for big–name stars. One leak and Ronan’s whole career would tank.

Meanwhile, hearing them talk about Cynthia actually made Briar interested. She folded her arms and watched with amusement.

Briar had never noticed before that Ronan was actually signed by Cynthia’s company
