The Silent Luna's Trial (Maple and Finn) novel Chapter 37

Chapter 8

Skyla’s Perspective

Preparing for the Night of Transformation

As I made my way back to my room, each step was deliberate, my mind brimming with determination. Tonight, I was going to show that pitiful excuse of a mate exactly what he was missing out on. But there was one glaring issue: my wardrobe didn’t have a single piece that screamed fierce, unstoppable she-wolf.

The moment I pushed open my door, the air was instantly filled with excited laughter and cheerful squeals.

There stood Alexia—my closest confidante—and my other dear friends, whom I usually only got to see during visits to my grandparents at the Silvermoon Pack. My heart leapt with joy as I exclaimed, “Alexia! Savannah! Veronica! Eliza! What are you all doing in my room?”

The triplets—Alpha Mason and Luna Kat’s daughters—shared wide grins and shouted together, “We’re about to turn you into a bad bitch!”

A wide smile stretched across my face, unable to suppress the thrill bubbling inside me.

In my mind, I whispered fiercely, “Watch out, Cassian. You won’t know what hit you.”

I began my transformation with a long, soothing soak in the ensuite jacuzzi tub, letting the warm water wash away any lingering doubts. The gentle bubbles caressed my skin, and I felt the tension melt away, replaced by a burgeoning confidence.

Once I was out, Alexia took charge, working her magic on my naturally kinky ginger hair, straightening it until it cascaded smoothly down my back like a fiery waterfall. Savannah then took over, meticulously painting my nails with a deep, bold color, while Eliza pampered my toes with care and precision. Meanwhile, Veronica applied my makeup—what they affectionately called a “face beat”—with expert strokes.

Makeup was something I rarely wore, so they insisted I keep my eyes closed until the very end, refusing to let me see the transformation until it was complete.

When Veronica finally stepped back, satisfied, they escorted me to my bed, still keeping the mirror hidden from view. Resting there was a small box, a sparkling diamond bracelet, and a single yellow rose—my favorite flower—and unmistakably from my dad.
