“Come on, give me a break. You’re a smart girl—you know what’s going on, just keep it to yourself, okay?” Cheryl clung to Lindsay’s sleeve, her voice taking on a playful, almost pleading tone.

“Don’t worry, I’m not the nosy type. If Yves wants to talk, he will. There’s no point in forcing it,” Lindsay replied, her attitude refreshingly relaxed.

“Ugh, Lindsay is so shameless. She really thinks you’re interested in her,” Zachary sneered from the passenger seat, rolling his eyes. “She heard you’re coming to the Quigley Group to take back Yves' CEO position, so she made sure to wait here just for you.”

“A crow dreaming of becoming a swan. Pathetic,” Lester scoffed, a cold smirk tugging at his lips. The more desperate Lindsay acted for his attention, the more victorious he felt. He was now the majority shareholder of the Quigley Group, with Yves completely under his thumb. And Yves' woman? She seemed all too eager to grovel at his feet.
