The Sleeper's Wrath and His Wife's Strike novel Chapter 96

“What college is she at? What’s her name? I want to see her.” As Yves' wife, Lindsay knew both logic and etiquette demanded she pay a visit to the girl.

If it hadn’t been for her brother’s sacrifice, Yves wouldn’t have survived long enough for help to arrive.

“Skyrim University,” Cheryl replied, scratching her head. “I’ve already forgotten the girl’s name. After I helped her get into college, I lost touch.”

Skyrim University!

It was the most prestigious school in Skyrim—not even money could buy your way in. Lindsay could only imagine what hoops Cheryl must have jumped through to get that girl admitted.

“Let me check her social media,” Cheryl said, pulling out her phone and scrolling for a while. Eventually, she found the girl’s profile.

It was just her name.

Cheryl handed her phone to Lindsay. “Look, her name’s actually kind of pretty.”

Alexia Laurier!

Lindsay’s eyes narrowed, her chest rising and falling in jagged waves. Her hand, resting on the table, slowly curled into a fist as a flash of pure hatred shot through her gaze.

It was her. Alexia.

“What’s wrong? Do you know her?” Cheryl had caught that look in Lindsay’s eyes. Was there some sort of bad blood between her and Alexia?

Lindsay smoothed her expression, shaking her head. “It’s nothing. I don’t know her. She’s quite pretty, though. Isn’t she majoring in film directing at Skyrim University?”

Cheryl blinked in surprise. “How did you know? Did I already mention that?”

Lindsay let out a cold laugh. Cheryl hadn’t said a word. She just remembered—Alexia had studied film directing in her previous life, too.

Back when Alexia was still in school, she’d cozied up to the famous director, Mr. Zade.

“I get the feeling you’re not going there to visit Alexia—you’re going to eat her alive,” Cheryl said bluntly, the corners of her mouth twitching.

Lindsay smiled. “Why would I? She’s the sister of Yves' savior.”

What’s fair is fair—Alexia’s brother risked his life to save Yves, but Alexia had hurt her, and Lindsay wasn’t about to mix up the two debts.

Cheryl opened her mouth, but seeing Lindsay’s half-smile, she swallowed her words.

After a long day, the two women parted ways and headed home.

Lindsay had barely set foot inside Quigley Manor when Lester called her over. “Lindsay, you’re back.”

He glanced around to make sure they were alone, then shoved a folder into her hands. “Make sure Yves signs these tonight.”
