Max looked at Jeremy, who was practically fuming, and just gave a cool, almost mocking smile. His eyes were dark and cold, full of disdain. Without bothering to say a word, Max turned away and started walking out of the villa.

Jeremy watched him leave, his fists clenched so tight his knuckles cracked. He turned back to Felicia, his face softening as he asked, “Felicia, are you alright?”

Felicia had just managed to calm down. She shook her head a little, still sounding a bit shaky. “I’m fine.”

Greg walked over, worry written all over his face. “Felicia?”

Seeing the state she was in, Greg could instantly tell Felicia had been forced into this. His brows knit together. “What did you two talk about?”

Felicia let out a long breath, trying to get a grip on herself, but she was still annoyed. “He’s just… crazy.”

She gave a quick rundown of what happened.

Greg frowned even harder. So this was all because of something their aunt had accidentally said earlier.

“Honestly, he really is goddamn crazy.”

Greg was always the calm one, never the type to curse, but at that moment he looked like he might lose it.

Jeremy asked, “Did you tell Anne about your trip tomorrow?”

Felicia nodded. “Yeah, I explained everything.”

Jeremy didn’t ask anything else after that.

A little while later, Felicia and Greg walked Jeremy out to the gate. After Jeremy drove off, they turned and headed back inside.

“Do you know what Max is even thinking?” Greg asked.

Felicia remembered how weird Max had been acting lately. She hoped he wasn’t actually interested in her.

“I really have no idea.”

When they got back to the living room, Colton and Ava were waiting. Greg’s aunt had already spilled the beans about what she’d just seen. Colton had gotten so angry he went to the kitchen for a knife, and Ava had to pull him back.
