Nash saw the redness in Alexander's eyes as the smell of liquor hung heavy in the air. The man who was always so composed now looked as if all his strength had been drained away.
"Mr. Davidson, hurting yourself like this won't solve anything," Nash said softly, trying to take the glass from his hand. "Maybe it's just a misunderstanding with Miss Crawford. If you two just talked…"
"I said, leave me alone."
Seeing him like this, Nash knew that nothing more he said would get through. He retreated silently. Once outside, he pulled out his phone and, after a long hesitation, dialed Danielle's number.
He kept his voice low. "Miss Crawford, is this a good time to talk?"
"Mr. Langley? What is it?" Danielle's voice was laced with confusion.
Nash took a deep breath. "Miss Crawford, Mr. Davidson… he's been drinking heavily. He's in a very bad state. I know there might be misunderstandings between you, but he truly cares about you. He just doesn't know how to show it. I wanted to ask… do you still love him? I know this might be unfair to you right now, but if you do, could you please try to help him? You're the only one who can bring him back."
Nash knew that given how Alexander had treated her, asking for her generosity now was a tall order.
The line went silent for so long that Nash thought she wasn't going to answer. Just as he was about to hang up, Danielle's soft voice came through. "I understand, Mr. Langley. Thank you for telling me." Then she ended the call.

OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
