The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 910

Danielle walked behind them, her heart stirring as she watched his deft, thoughtful actions. He was always like this, hiding his affection in the details. He knew his daughter's preferences inside and out, yet because of the distance between them, even a simple expression of care seemed tentative. Perhaps Niki truly was the best bridge between them.

The restaurant was a family-themed private room that Alexander had booked in advance, with cartoon stickers on the walls and child-sized cutlery on the table. As soon as the waiter handed them menus, Niki excitedly pointed at a picture in the children's section. "Daddy, I want the dinosaur-shaped rice!"

Alexander smiled and nodded, then turned to Danielle. "They have that pan-seared sea bass you liked from the other place. Should I order it?"

Danielle paused, surprised he remembered something she had mentioned casually so long ago. She murmured a soft "yes," watching as he skillfully deboned a piece of fish for Niki and placed peeled shrimp in her bowl. The warmth in her eyes deepened.

Halfway through the meal, Niki put down her spoon, clutched her napkin, and asked in a small voice, "Daddy, my school is having a parent-teacher conference next week. Can… can you come?"

Her voice grew quieter, but her eyes shone with hope. "It's always been Mommy or the nanny who goes. The other kids ask where my daddy is."

Alexander's hands froze. He looked at his daughter's timid expression, and a sharp pang of guilt shot through him. He swallowed hard, his voice raspy. "Daddy will be there. I promise."
