The Year I Was the Other Woman To Myself novel Chapter 126

Zebulon’s brow furrowed as he shot a glare at Rebecca.

“This is my mother,” she whispered.

“What is she doing here?”

“Why can’t I be here?” Mrs. Winters’s voice rose with fury. “I’m her mother, so you better take a good look! You tricked my daughter into marrying you, got her pregnant, and didn’t even bother to tell me! Your family owes me an explanation!”

Mrs. Winters looked like she wasn’t to be trifled with. Annoyed, Zebulon shot Rebecca another angry look.

“You talk about manners?” Mrs. Sullivan interjected. “What about you, barging into someone’s house in the middle of the night? And you want an explanation? You’ve got some nerve.”

“Are you calling me shameless?”

“Yes, I am! What are you going to do about it?”

Mrs. Winters’s eyes widened. She rolled up her sleeves and lunged at Mrs. Sullivan.

Before anyone could react, Mrs. Sullivan let out a piercing shriek. “Agh, my back! My hair! You country bumpkin!”

“So what if I’m from the country? You think you can push me around?”

Mrs. Winters not only had a fistful of Mrs. Sullivan’s hair but was also twisting her cheek with her other hand while kicking her shins. Mrs. Sullivan was completely overpowered.

Snapping out of their shock, Mr. Sullivan and Zebulun rushed to pull Mrs. Winters off, but in the scuffle, Mrs. Sullivan managed to land a slap on her.

“So the whole family is ganging up on me, huh? I’m not afraid of you!”

Mrs. Winters spun around and sank her teeth into Mr. Sullivan’s arm, biting down hard. He howled in pain.

Rebecca tried to intervene, but Zebulon shoved her back. “Are you going to help your mother attack us?”

“I—”

“Get out of the way!”

“I…”

“Why is there a marriage certificate but no wedding?”

“...”

“And what was that about divorcing you if something happens to the baby? Are you just an incubator to them?”

“...”

Mrs. Winters’s lips curled into a cold smile. “I see what’s going on. You’re openly bullying my daughter, aren’t you?” She grabbed Rebecca’s arm. “I’m taking you to the hospital right now to get rid of this baby. You want a divorce? Fine, you’ll get one!”

Seeing that she was serious, Mr. Sullivan quickly stepped in front of them. “This has all been a misunderstanding. Please, have a seat. Let’s talk this over calmly.”

“Talk?” Mrs. Winters scoffed. “Fine. We can talk after you give me a one-million-dollar settlement.”
