The Year I Was the Other Woman To Myself novel Chapter 190

The chat went silent for a moment. Then people started asking what she meant by sending the photo, quickly followed by, “Who is this?”

“I’m the poor woman Zebulon tricked into a fake marriage,” she typed, trying to summon a tear but only managing to wipe away drool from laughing too hard.

Ignoring their stunned reactions, she began sending a flurry of voice messages.

She started from the beginning, explaining how Zebulon and the Sullivans had deceived her. She described how Rebecca, her supposed best friend, had betrayed her.

Her long series of messages left the group chat in stunned silence.

“When Stone Group was on the verge of bankruptcy, I worked day and night to bring in business and saved the company. But once they were back on their feet, they threw me out like I was nothing!”

“I gave Zebulon everything, but he was hooking up with my best friend behind my back. The three of us would go on trips together, and they would sneak off, just like in that photo!”

“My dear best friend… In college, I knew she was short on money, so I always bought her meals and helped her with homework. After graduation, when she couldn’t find a job, I recommended her to Stone Group. And how did she repay me? By sleeping with my boyfriend!”

“And Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan, the elders I respected and loved, they knew everything. They helped him deceive me, bled me dry, and humiliated me!”

After her long rant, Penelope sent one more picture: a close-up of the bruise on her left cheek.

“And today, the five of them ganged up on me and beat me…”

Though she was the only one talking, she knew every Sullivan relative was glued to their screen, silently absorbing the drama. The gossip was so explosive it left them speechless.

Finally, the dam broke.

“Oh my god, I can’t believe they’re that kind of people!”

“Are they even human? Even animals don’t behave like that!”

“And they beat her? A young woman like that?”

“Penelope! You’ve gone too far!”

“Do you have any idea what you’ve done? My dad fainted from anger, and my mom is in a hospital bed!”

“Are you trying to kill our entire family?”

“Just you wait! I will make you pay for this!”

Penelope listened to his messages with a smile, her mood soaring. After a dozen furious messages from him, she sent a simple reply: “Okay. I’ll be waiting.”

If they thought this was over, she was more than happy to keep playing.
