The Year I Was the Other Woman To Myself novel Chapter 213

Yvonne's gaze swept past Penelope without a flicker of recognition, but she paused, her eyes lingering on Norton.

Norton looked like a guilty child caught by a parent, instinctively ducking his head and shrinking back.

Yvonne let out a soft huff before entering the room.

"Crap, what's she doing back?" Norton muttered under his breath.

Penelope pushed down the turmoil in her heart and looked at Yvonne again.

She hadn't actively sought out news of the Bishop family, but it was impossible to avoid, especially news about Donald Bishop. As an actor, he was constantly in the spotlight, and in the past year, he had swept nearly every major award for one of his films, becoming a grand slam-winning movie star.

Online discussions about him were everywhere, but everyone believed he had only one daughter: Yvonne.

They had no idea that she was his daughter too.

As the Bishop family heiress, Yvonne had been sent abroad for school and had been living overseas ever since. Her return to the country must mean she was preparing to take over the Bishop Group.

Yvonne's arrival silenced the room. The crying stopped, the commotion died down, and the group of rowdy young men became models of obedience.

"Sis, why… why are you here?" Ruby Bishop, Yvonne's younger sister, quickly stubbed out her cigarette and rushed to her side.

Norton's friend, Eden Lancaster, scrambled to his feet, tears and snot still clinging to his face, but he didn't dare make another sound.

"S-sis."

Yvonne glanced at Eden, then turned to her sister. Her expression turned to ice, and she slapped Ruby across the face.

The sound was sharp and clear.

Ruby stumbled from the force of the blow but said nothing, quickly straightening herself.

Yvonne didn't speak. She just slapped her again, twice more.

Ruby's face swelled instantly, and her lip split, trickles of blood running from the corner of her mouth.

The others in the room shrank back in fear.

"Eden, are you satisfied now?" Yvonne asked.

"As her fiancé, I believe that's your responsibility, isn't it?"

Eden was fuming inside, but he had no choice but to help Ruby up, hastily throwing some clothes on her before practically dragging her out of the room.

Norton grabbed Penelope, planning to leave with Eden and his friends, but Yvonne stopped him.

"I have something to ask you."

Her words froze him in place. He stood obediently by the door.

Yvonne then walked over to the muscular man. He didn't know who she was, but her commanding presence, and the reactions of the others, had intimidated him.

"You have until midnight tonight to get out of Orenth. And you are never to set foot here again."

"Who do you think… you are?" he stammered.

"You don't need to know who I am. But I can guarantee you won't see the sunrise in Orenth tomorrow."

It sounded insane, but the man didn't dare laugh. He scrambled to put his clothes on, and once he was sure Yvonne wasn't going to do anything to him right then, he fled.
