**Chapter 110**

Kairos… a fleeting hour earlier…

The atmosphere in his home was electric, alive with laughter and pulsating music as Kairos finally made his descent from his room. He had just emerged from a refreshing shower, his hair slicked back meticulously, droplets of water still clinging to his skin. As he fastened the cuffs of his shirt, he could feel the thrum of the party vibrating through the floor beneath his feet. It was a typical gathering, but today felt different, charged with an energy that made him both excited and apprehensive.

When he stepped onto the first floor, he was greeted by the sight of bodies swaying rhythmically to the beat, a few guests congregating near the bar, drinks in hand. Kairos navigated through the throng, exchanging nods and smiles with familiar faces. He was acutely aware of the reputation he had to uphold, especially in light of the scandal that had erupted with Jeckell a few months prior. The school administration had been breathing down his neck, and his father was no less demanding, constantly reminding him of the importance of “good behavior” and “appropriate interactions.” With that in mind, he and his friends had taken it upon themselves to ensure that any hint of mischief was kept at bay in his home.

As he approached the bar, a familiar presence made itself known. Thorne, his brother in arms, clapped a hand on his shoulder, the gesture almost lost beneath the thundering music. “Brother,” he bellowed, his voice barely cutting through the noise.

“Everything all right?” Kairos shouted back, straining to hear.

Thorne nodded, but there was an unmistakable tension in his posture, a tightness in his jaw that suggested something was amiss. Leaning closer, he whispered conspiratorially in Kairos’s ear, “Have you heard who graced our campus with their presence today?”

Kairos pulled back slightly, shaking his head in confusion. Thorne’s eyes widened, brimming with excitement before he leaned in once more. “Amara Luna,” he revealed, his voice low and urgent. “My sister. The Princess.”

A smug frown creased Kairos’s face at the mention of the adopted Luna Princess. He had heard the tales, whispered rumors that painted her as a striking figure—tall, slender, and possessing a beauty that was sharp and predatory, much like a hawk. There was something intoxicating yet dangerous about her, a siren who could ensnare the hearts of male Alphas, only to toy with them before moving on to her next conquest. She manipulated men as one would a harp, plucking at their emotions until she produced the melody she desired.

Kairos had no intention of becoming another note in her song.

His own romantic endeavors had become increasingly lackluster since the start of his third year. In truth, there was a gnawing unease in his gut whenever he thought of Zora Smith. She had nearly shattered him, leaving him in agony, his leg broken in fourteen places, forcing him to miss two full days of training. Yet, somewhere deep within, a part of him wondered what it would be like to possess her completely. To hold her close, to keep her safe from the likes of Maximus, from Thorne, from everyone who might come between them.
