Three Years Wasted I Married Mr. Right novel Chapter 125

Annabelle chook her head. Sophie, you always see the best in people

Sophia said. Annabelle, can you help me check out of the hospital? The experiment’s not done yet, and I need to get back..

Annabelle nodded. Sure.

Annabelle left the hospital room to handle Sophia’s discharge paperwork, while Sophia slipped into the bathroom to change into her regular clothes.

When she stepped out, she saw an unexpected visitor in the wardthe air instantly felt heavy with his vibes.

It had only been a week, but Lucas was a mess compared to his usual charming self. His chin was covered in stubble, his hair hadn’t seen a comb in days, and he looked downright rough around the edges.

The moment their eyes met, alarm bells went off in Sophia’s mind. She tightened her guard, staring at him with utmost wariness.

What are you doing here?Sophia demanded.

You’ve been avoiding me for days. I’m here to take you back to Cherry Grove,Lucas said.

If it hadn’t been for Linda bringing back the formula for skin regeneration data, he never would have believed Sophia was really a researcherand a remarkably capable one at that.

Sophia crossed her armsa sign she was on guard.

She gave Lucas a cold stare. Let’s just end this peacefully, Lucas.

Sophia, now that I’ve seen what you’re truly worth, do you think I’m just going to divorce you and let you go so easily?Lucas replied.

Back when Sophia didn’t show that kind of talent, Billy refused to let them get divorced.

Since they had realized just how valuable Sophia actually was, there was no chance they would ever let her go.

Sophia felt a deep sadness wash over her.

She had married Lucas because it was a business deal between their families, and now, the only reason they wouldn’t let her go was because of her value to them.

All along, she had been head over heels for Lucas, but it turned out he never felt the same way.

Is it because Linda brought back the formula data that you finally feel threatened?Sophia shot back.

Lucas smirked. Think whatever you want. Honestly, I saw what you’re really capable of, and suddenly, I can’t help but fall for you.”

Sophia slowly shook her head. Lucas, you’re out of your mind. Don’t count on me to ever do you any favors.

Lucas shrugged, his tone indifferent. As long as you don’t stand against me, I don’t care if you spend your life as my trophy wife.

Sophia squinted. Do you just want to keep me as your pretty little pet?

Well, if you insist on working, you’ll be stuck in Yadel Group’s R&D lab, and nowhere else,Lucas replied.

With that, Lucas snapped his fingers, and the bodyguards who had been waiting outside rushed in.

Sophia glanced at the four burly bodyguards and scoffed inwardly.

It seemed that Lucas had come prepared.

No need to make such a big scene. I’ll go with you,Sophia said flatly, turning around to collect her stuff.

When Annabelle returned with the discharge paperwork, she found the ward completely quiet.

Panic rising in her chest, she immediately called Sophia. The call went through right away.

Annabelle, I’m going back to Cherry Grove with Lucas. Don’t worry about me,Sophia reassured her.

Annabelle gritted her teeth. Why is that jerk everywhere?

Annabelle, I’m counting on you to handle the rest,Sophia said.

Annabelle was about to say something else, but the call had already ended. She stomped her foot in frustration.

She had clearly overestimated how much decency Lucas had left.

In the back seat of the black Bentley, Lucas sat elegantly with his legs crossed, turning his head to gaze at Sophia, who sat quietly beside him.

It hadn’t even been that long, but she looked slenderer, and somehow, her allure was even more magnetic than before.

Knowing just how impressive she was made him even more drawn to her.

He leaned in and grabbed her chin firmly. Sophie, you’ll never get away from me. Stop wasting your energy.
