Three Years Wasted I Married Mr. Right novel Chapter 126

Sophia slapped his hand away, sat against the door, and stared coldly at Lucas.

Lucas, does this actually amuse you?she said, voice icy.

Lucas lowered his gaze to the red mark on his hand, a hint of menace flashing in his eyes.

Drop the act. You used to beg me to touch you,he said.

Sophia scoffed, Guess I must have lost my mind back then.

She thought, ‘Was this really the same man who’d once pulled me from the rubble seven years ago? Three years of marriage, and I hadn’t seen a single trace of kindness in him.’

Lucas clenched his fists. Say whatever you want, but as long as I refuse to divorce, you’re chained to me for life.

Asshole,Sophia cursed.

Sophia turned away, not wanting to have that disgusting face spoil her sight for another second.

Lucas exploded. What did you just say? Say it again if you dare.

Sophia didn’t bother. She already knew what kind of man he wasthe kind who hit women.

She stared out the window, shutting him out entirely.

Sophia felt nothing but grief. She used to picture herself growing old alongside Lucas, but look at them now -their life was a total mess.

Now, all she wanted was to break free from this failed marriage, and the sooner, the better.

The car rolled into Cherry Grove, and Lucas yanked Sophia out, dragging her all the way into the living.

room.

Emily was on her phone in the living room. When she saw Lucas practically hauling Sophia in, she looked startled.

Lucas, you finally find Sophia,Emily blurted.

Lucas threw Sophia onto the couch, yanked at his tie, and said, You’re going to the R&D Department first thing tomorrow.

Sophia picked herself up, shooting a mocking glare at the man before herthis total stranger with a twisted, furious face.

Lucas clenched his fists in rage. Don’t look at me like that. Sophia, you brought all this on yourself.”

Sophia said, Lucas, if you force me to work in the R&D Department, you’ll regret it.

She wasn’t about to let him use her again.

Lucas leaned over, gripping her chin so hard that tears sprang to Sophia’s eyes from the pain.

She fixed her glare on Lucas, stubbornly refusing to look away.

Lucaschest tightened; he felt a sharp pain in his heart.

She once looked at him with devotion, but now, she couldn’t even hide her loathing.

Frustration and anger churned inside Lucas. Stop playing these tricks with me. Sophia, if you dare slack off or mess around in your research, trust meI have plenty of ways to deal with you.”

With that, he jerked her face aside and stomped upstairs.

Sophia straightened up, wiping away her tears, when Emily’s mocking voice cut through the silence.

Sophia, I seriously underestimated you. All that trouble at Yadel Group lately was all your plan, wasn’t it?Emily taunted.

Emily had always thought Sophia was just some clueless girl from a small town, but she never imagined Sophia could actually pull off something like this.

The turmoil tearing through the Westwood family these past few days was Sophia’s doing, and she even came up with the formula for that regenerating cream.

Emily couldn’t allow someone like Sophia to stay close to Lucas. Otherwise, there was no way Lucas would ever divorce her since it would affect their business.

As long as their marriage remained intact, Emily could never stand openly by Lucas’s side.

You really are a tough girl. Honestly, I’m curiouswhat other tricks do you have up your sleeve?Emily sneered.

Sophia rubbed her sore chin and gave Emily a look like she was staring at a complete fool.

If you hadn’t spent all your time messing around with men overseas, maybe you wouldn’t have turned out to be such a joke,Sophia shot back.

Emily’s face twisted in fury. Shut up. Who do you think you are?
