Three Years Wasted I Married Mr. Right novel Chapter 55

Chapter 55

Kevin didn’t need to do any more digging. He just carried the files he’d already investigated straight upstairs and handed them directly to Lucas.

He said, “Mr. Westwood, on your birthday, Mrs. Westwood went to the hospital for a pregnancy test. This is the report. It confirmed that she was pregnant.”

Kevin passed the pregnancy report to Lucas. Lucas was stunned, staring at the results.

He thought, Pregnant? No way. How is that even possible?‘

“Don’t tell me you’re trying to pass off some fake pregnancy report!” Lucas instantly suspected Kevin had already been bribed by Sophia.

He thought. ‘She’s doing all this just to make me live with the guilt of killing our child, isn’t she?‘

Kevin added, “Take a look at this. It’s the hospital admission slip from the night of your birthday. Mrs. Westwood was hospitalized to protect her pregnancy.”

Lucas glanced at the form. The time on it was about an hour after he’d left with Emily.

He remembered that he seemed to have really shoved Sophia that night. She collapsed on the floor, and her face was as pale as a sheet.

Lucas thought, ‘Did she really almost lose the baby that night? No, I don’t believe it!‘

“She’s really going all in with this show, isn’t she? The way she’s spun everything together is chilling when you think about it,” Lucas muttered.

Kevin really didn’t know what to say.

He couldn’t figure out why Lucas was still so stubborn. The evidence was all right there, but Lucas kept clinging to his belief -convinced that Sophia had never been pregnant, and nothing had happened.

Kevin said. “Here’s last night’s miscarriage report. Mr. Westwood, honestly, if you’ve already decided that Mrs. Westwood is lying to you, why make me run around investigating at all?”

Lucas was at a loss for words.

He thought, ‘He’s got a point. I’ve already pinned everything on Sophia in my mind, refusing to believe anyone no matter what proof they show me. So why send Kevin on this wild goose chase in the first place?

But every single one of these reports says I’m the one who screwed up. No way. How could I be wrong? It’s Sophia’s fault, not mine!

Everyone in the circle was talking about how Annabelle stormed Helen’s party with that creepy mini coffin last night.

Lucas’s face darkened. He thought, Figures. Good news never gets out, but the drama explodes everywhere!‘

Lucas asked. “Listen, after I left my birthday party that night, what happened to Sophia?”

Frank chuckled. “Oh, that night? You guys had barely walked out the door before she totally passed out. Looked like she was bleeding a lot, too. We all just thought that she was on her period.”

“What did you just say?” Lucas felt like he’d been hammered in the head, a wave of pain and confusion flooding his mind.

Frank said. “Seriously, the blood that night was way too much. It wasn’t normal at all. I heard that the coffin at the party last night was carrying your unborn kid, right? It all makes sense now. She must’ve had a miscarriage back then.”

Lucas was stunned. His whole face drained of color, and he started breathing hard, nearly losing his composure. “Who took her to the hospital that night?” he demanded.

“Gavin, that simp, of course. He was right next to Sophia, so he was the one who got her to the ER,” Frank explained.
