Too Good for You The Ex-Wife You Lost novel Chapter 189

Everyone could see that Hunter was blatantly playing favorites with Noelle. After all, he rarely showed up during previous competitions. They knew now that Hunter had only travelled to Emberfield with them because of Noelle.

Arthur decided to play the role of mediator as well, saying, "We're all part of the same racing team now, so we should stop being petty about things that aren't important."

Jody looked rather upset. The blame had ultimately been pinned on her even though she hadn't said a thing. But since Noelle had chosen to stay in a standard room, Jody also decided to behave a little more inconspicuously.

However, after the argument that took place in the hall, no one dared to share a room with Noelle. The arrangement worked out in Hunter's favor since he could stay in the same room as her, since it had two beds.

The standard rooms in the Emberfield Hotel were very small and weren't as big and spacious as the presidential suite. Hunter was immensely dissatisfied with everything about it and tried his best to convince Noelle to move to the suite.

"The bathroom is tiny and doesn't have a bathtub. There's no couch, and the lighting is poor too…"

"You can move to the presidential suite if you want to," Noelle said directly, not bothered enough to entertain his nonsense. "They've just sent a message in the group chat. They want everyone to meet up to eat at the restaurant on the third floor."

She had already finished unpacking her belongings. She shot a warning look in Hunter's direction and said, "You should go back to your actual room after we're done eating. You're forbidden from entering my room."

She then snatched the room's keycard out of Hunter's hands and slipped it into her own pocket. She was already in the eye of the storm. If she and Hunter shared a room, she had no doubt that even more rumors about them would circulate among the team.

"Everyone on this floor works for me. They wouldn't run their mouths…" Hunter said, his words colored with pleading.

Noelle pressed her index finger against his lips, telling him without words to zip his mouth. Surprisingly, Hunter obediently kept his mouth shut.

"Hunter, you need to stay three feet away from me from now onward," she said seriously.

Hunter was rendered speechless by her order. He also felt a little upset.

Noelle never expected him to be such a clingy person. She wondered if he had given up on pretending altogether because their agreement was about to take effect. However, she had no intention to get distracted from her goal.

When they arrived at the restaurant, she was surprised to run into a few familiar faces.

Derrick was among the group of Norlandic racers. It turned out that the Norlandics, who were rude to her in the previous race, had also shown up to participate in the International Grand Prix. One of them was Desmond Hayes, a racer she had met during the qualifying race.

Desmond was berating Derrick at that moment. "You're such an idiot. I would have left you behind if I had known. You can't even carry our belongings properly. What an utterly useless fool!"
