As expected, Nicola sought Noelle out of her own volition before two days had even passed.
Everyone in Swift Racing didn't agree with Derrick's decision to step down. After all, he had fulfilled his duties to the best of his ability when he was their captain. On top of that, he was an undoubtedly skilled racer. They wouldn't be able to find a better person to take his place if Derrick left Swift Racing.
As for Nicola, the dead weight who only knew how to drag their team down, the members of Swift Racing began to have "discussions" with her after Derrick broke up with her. They called their talks "discussions", but in reality, they were borderline threatening her.
Every member of Swift Racing agreed that if Nicola refused to leave the team, they would unite as one and suggest that Nicole return to basic training camp to continue her rookie training.
The basic training camp consisted of top racers from each region. Nicola's skills were on par with them, but if she was demoted to the basic training camp, she would essentially never be able to join the national team again.
Furthermore, if she was rejected from the national team, she would be ridiculed for it for the rest of her career. Everyone would look down on her from then on.
After mulling things over, Nicola realized that she had no other option left to her but to seek out Noelle. After all, Noelle was the root of all her problems. Although she did bully Noelle in the past, she wasn't the mastermind, so perhaps Noelle would go easy on her if she conceded to her.
Nicola purposefully waited for Noelle outside of Flame Speed Racing's training hall. Everyone else had finished their training long ago and had gone to rest, but the members of Flame Speed Racing almost seemed to be possessed as they continued training.
It was obvious that the atmosphere surrounding Flame Speed Racing was starkly different from the other teams. Nicola was a little envious, but she was also scared. When she spotted Noelle exiting the hall with a towel and a bottle, she rushed up to her.
"Ms. Quinn," she called while trailing after Noelle, worrying that she didn't hear her.
Noelle wiped the sweat from her forehead before turning to look at Nicola. "What's up?"
Nicola suddenly felt a little guilty. She felt as if Noelle could see right through her. She probably didn't need to say a word for Noelle to know exactly what she was thinking.
"Ms. Quinn, I'm here to apologize to you." Nicola started crying. "I shouldn't have bullied you with Shannon and the others. I shouldn't have done what I did at all. I've learned my lesson."
She choked, "Can you please let me join Flame Speed Racing? I'll do anything that you want. I'll put my best foot forward, and I won't cause any trouble for you."
Noelle's tone was icy when she said, "My first request is for you to raise your personal ranking from C to A within a month of joining Flame Speed Racing. We don't accept useless trash in our team."
Nicola's heart hammered in her chest, for she thought it was an extremely difficult request. Based on her current skill level, Noelle was basically asking her to pluck the moon from the sky. But since she had no other choice, she impatiently asked, "What's the second request?"
Noelle looked at her coldly before saying, "You have the lowest points and the worst skills. You'll have to serve drinks to everyone in Flame Speed Racing and clean their training gear, the training hall, and the racetrack. If you don't, the others will never agree to you joining us."
Nicola bit her lip. These were all chores that Derrick would always help her complete when she was in Swift Racing. She had never experienced such hardship in her life.
"Okay. I'll do it," she said through gritted teeth.
"As for the last request," Noelle said with a smile. "It'll prove your loyalty to Flame Speed Racing. I'll convince Coach Haberkorn to take you under our wing, but you need to tell the head coach everything that the members of Turbolt Racing did."
