Too Good for You The Ex-Wife You Lost novel Chapter 58

The next morning, sunlight streamed into the car as Noelle climbed out to wash up.

Luther arrived with Tina, smiling as he approached her. "Ms. Quinn, we've looked into last night's incident."

Noelle held the toothbrush in her mouth, brushing slowly and squinting at him as if waiting for him to continue.

Luther continued, "Those two apprentices were just trying to play a joke. They never intended to harm you. You weren't hurt, were you? They got injured as well, which I think served as a lesson. I've already removed them from the crew. They won't appear in front of you again."

Most of the Flame Speed Racing team had already gotten up, and hearing Luther's words, they felt their anger rise. The recording from the previous night had clearly shown the two apprentices saying it wouldn't matter if Noelle got bitten to death. How could Luther now claim it was "just a joke"?

Noelle spat out the toothpaste and coldly said, "Is this what you call an explanation?"

Luther smiled. "Of course, Ms. Quinn. I understand you feel wronged, but you signed a contract with us. I hope you won't hold a grudge and disrupt the filming schedule. That would make things difficult for everyone, and no one would look good in that situation."

Noelle's expression turned bitterly ironic. "Aren't the ones actually disrupting the shoot the real culprits? Since when does a victim like me get blamed for delaying the shoot?"

Tina folded her arms. "Ms. Quinn, I knew nothing of what those two did. If they were bitten, it's because they didn't handle the items properly. I hope we can continue to work together without tension."

According to them, Noelle was the only one behaving unreasonably.

Noelle chuckled. "Alright then."

Her lazy, unbothered demeanor seemed to relax Luther and Tina, though both sneered inwardly. They had thought Noelle was impressive, but she turned out to be so easy to intimidate.

The members of the Flame Speed Racing team scowled.

Just as Alexis was about to reason with Noelle, she cut her off. "I can forgive your lack of judgment, but some people cannot be forgiven. When someone does wrong, they must face the consequences."

She smiled at Luther. "What do you think, Mr. Sutton?"

Luther suddenly felt a sinking premonition. Noelle's gaze was sharp and cutting, as if it could pierce through a person in an instant. He swallowed nervously. Just as he was about to speak, his phone rang.

At first, he hesitated to answer, but seeing the caller ID nearly made his legs give out. He glanced at Noelle and found her looking at him with a faint, teasing smile, shrugging lightly as if to say, "Why haven't you answered yet?"

Before she finished, Luther struck the table sharply. "How dare you speak to Ms. Quinn that way!"

Tina's eyes widened, unable to believe how quickly he had changed. "You…"

Luther quickly lowered his head in apology to Noelle. "Ms. Quinn, I am truly sorry. I didn't handle this properly. Please give me a chance to make it right. How would you like me to resolve this? We will follow your instructions."

Everyone present was stunned. Luther's sudden shift in attitude was astonishing.

Wiping the sweat from his face, Luther thought to himself that he had no choice but to be humble. The president had called personally and already suspended Donovan for investigation. If Luther wanted to continue moving in this circle, he had to admit his mistakes to Noelle and punish Tina along with the two apprentices.

Otherwise, the consequences would be the same as Donovan's, possibly even imprisonment.

This was the president and also the head of the automotive trade association.

With such powerful backing, Noelle's power was beyond measure.
