Too Good for You The Ex-Wife You Lost novel Chapter 64

The ladies nearby immediately began whispering among themselves.

"That cannot be right. The necklace around Ms. Quinn's neck is flawless in both shine and color. Valen is extremely strict about his work. There is no way a counterfeit could ever match this level."

"Exactly. Who would dare wear fake jewelry to an event like this? That would only be humiliating. Nobody would be that foolish."

The women were sharp and worldly, and if there was one thing they despised, it was a mistress. For Lola to challenge Noelle so openly struck them as brazen beyond measure.

Lola's cheeks flushed red as she hurried to explain. "I'm not making this up! Everyone knows Valen's classic designs now sell for hundreds of millions of dollars, even up to a billion dollars, and they are nearly impossible to buy. Noelle used to be just a housewife with no income. How could she possibly afford jewelry worth that much?"

She looked at Noelle with disdain. "Noelle, I always thought your league championship win was suspicious. Now I see you really are good at putting on a show, but when it comes to true high-society knowledge, you know far too little. You can't even fake it convincingly."

Noelle crossed her arms and looked at her in exasperation. "Who told you I bought this jewelry?"

Hearing that, Lola burst out laughing. "What, are you saying someone else gave this to you? Well, of course. They must've taken advantage of the fact that you don't understand the market or fine jewelry and tricked you with a fake set. I can't believe you actually fell for it!"

She covered her mouth as she smirked. "You really should be more careful. Otherwise, one day you might end up being fooled and helping them profit."

Noelle gave a cold laugh. "And who exactly said this set is fake?"

She looked at Lola and coldly said, "Every piece Valen designs comes with a serial number. That number tracks the owner's information, and whenever the jewelry changes hands, the record updates with the new owner. That's why Valen's creations have always been treated as hard currency in the jewelry world. I'm sure everyone here knows that, right?"

Such expensive pieces always carried traceable records that guaranteed authenticity and ownership.

Lola lifted her chin. "Of course."

She had checked her own ring the same way.

Noelle nodded slightly. "In that case, feel free to look up the serial number on my jewelry and see who it belongs to."

The suggestion seemed perfectly reasonable to everyone. With Noelle making such a confident statement, there was no way her jewelry was fake.

"That's impossible!" she blurted out.

When she noticed the website address, she sneered. "Noelle, if you're going to fool us, at least use a convincing site. Valen's work isn't authenticated there!"

Noelle calmly put her jewelry back on and said coolly, "This site is certified by Valen's own studio. It's recognized worldwide."

Her eyes slid toward the ring on Lola's hand. "Don't tell me you were duped."

Lola's face turned red. She stiffened her neck and snapped, "That's impossible!"

Gritting her teeth, she quickly pulled up another website and tried to enter her ring's serial number, only to find the page no longer existed.

Her eyes went wide as she stared down at the ring in her hand, disbelief written all over her face.

Noelle gave her phone a little shake and said with a faint smile, "Why don't you try verifying your ring on the official site?"
