Too Good for You The Ex-Wife You Lost novel Chapter 68

Noelle left early for training camp. She had someone drive over the car Divine Group gave her, so she wouldn't be seen arriving with Hunter and spark gossip.

Even if nothing happened between them—or even if something did—Jude wouldn't object. Still, as coach and trainee, it was better to avoid suspicion.

As she pulled away, she caught a flash in the corner of her eye—like a camera going off. It vanished in an instant, so she brushed it aside.

Once Noelle arrived at the camp, Jude asked about the poisoning incident during filming.

"I'm fine. The one who set it up got hurt instead," she said, downplaying it.

The recording she had produced back then was really just stolen chat logs between the two assistants. Her room never had a recorder at all.

As for the snake in their tent, that had been her doing. Its venom was mild, but enough to teach them a lesson.

Jude still looked shaken. "From now on, I'll assign you a bodyguard. If anything happens to you, what should we do about the international race in three months?"

Noelle pretended to look flustered. "Hey, I thought you were worried about me. Turns out you're just concerned about the competition."

"This is for your future as well," Jude replied, flashing a sheepish smile at her. "If you place in three months, you can apply for an E-class license right away and skip G-class entirely."

He sighed. "If only you could race again as Sheila… Things wouldn't be so complicated."

Noelle fell silent. After her accident, she had quit the team in silence and never explained to her former teammates. To them, she was already a traitor.

"No point digging up the past," she said, forcing a smile. "I'll head back now."

"Wait. Take these." Jude stopped her and shoved two boxes of cherries toward her. "They were freshly picked yesterday."

Her nose stung. "I'm no longer a child. Why give me these?"

"Who says an adult can't have cherries?" he retorted, feigning an impatient tone. "Hurry up and take them. I hate stuff like this."

Noelle accepted the two boxes of cherries with a bright smile. "Thanks, coach!"

She left the head coach's office and was about to share the cherries with her teammates when she ran into Shannon, who was hobbling on crutches.

Shannon's expression was dark. The moment she noticed the boxes of cherries, a sneer tugged at her lips.

Noelle promptly ignored her and prepared to leave.

Noelle watched her leave, her expression cold.

Conflicts were present wherever interests existed. She never looked for trouble, but she wouldn't hesitate to make those who tried to harm her pay.

Training resumed that afternoon.

With Hunter absent, Noelle was put in charge of monitoring everyone's performance. After reviewing her teammates' data, she made a few adjustments.

Over the past few days, they had been distracted by filming and lacked motivation—unlike Nicola, who had stayed behind to train diligently. She even fetched water and towels for the group once she was done.

As Hazel wiped the sweat from her brow, she stole a glance at Noelle, who was drinking beside her.

"Guys, why does Coach Haberkorn take time off so often?" Hazel asked, feigning ignorance. "Do you think he's already married?"

She glanced at Noelle, who kept gulping down water without the slightest reaction.

But the rest of the group's curiosity was immediately piqued.
