Anyone would fight to recruit someone on the level of Sheila's apprentice.
But Noelle? How could she possibly have that kind of ability?
Lola thought she was just overthinking it.
Noelle had already noticed Lola and Lucas standing beside her. Not wanting to stir up trouble, she glanced over the cars, then took Alexis with her to the lounge.
The two would share a room for the night.
Noelle reminded Alexis, "When you're at events like this, you need to be twice as careful with anything you eat or drink. Don't accept food or water from strangers, and if you've looked away from it for even a moment, don't touch it again."
Alexis nodded immediately. "Got it."
This wasn't like the intensive training camp. She had to be on guard about everything.
Noelle was hungry herself, so she brought Alexis to the buffet.
They had barely stepped in when someone bumped into them, spilling juice all over Noelle.
As Lola apologized, offering tissues, she edged closer to Noelle, clearly trying to get a better look at Noelle's face beneath the cap.
Noelle caught her wrist midair with a cold expression and said in a low voice, "Get lost."
Lola flinched and stumbled back. She hadn't actually seen Noelle's face, and she thought the voice she heard didn't sound much like Noelle's either.
Still, she refused to give up. "I'm really sorry for dirtying your clothes. I can compensate you. Could I at least get your number?"
The brim of the cap cast a shadow over Noelle's eyes, but her voice carried a deep, dangerous anger. "If you don't want to die, you'd better walk away now."
Lola froze in shock, thinking this voice did not belong to Noelle. It was even colder and more merciless.
So, maybe it wasn't her after all. Noelle was on the national team. If she were sneaking into an underground race like this, that would be a blatant violation.
Lola couldn't figure out who this woman was, so she backed off in a hurry. "I'm sorry…"
Then she turned and practically ran, too rattled to take another look.
That was when Wilson strolled over.
"Well, well. Where's that impressive car she talked about yesterday? I haven't seen a trace of it. Don't tell me she bragged so hard she couldn't back it up, and now, she doesn't know how to get out of it."
Alexis turned worried eyes toward Noelle.
The race was still a while away, but without a car, what were they supposed to compete with?
Noelle didn't even look at Wilson. They had come early, and Raymond hadn't arrived yet.
Feeling ignored, Wilson was about to curse her out when Noelle stood up, looking at Raymond, who was approaching from a distance. "Let's head down. Raymond's here. He should take a look at the car we'll be racing today."
Wilson snorted. He'd already scoped things out earlier. On this entire track, there wasn't a single car that could match up to Beast.
He thought Noelle was just putting on a show and didn't have anything real. Otherwise, the crowd would already be buzzing.
Wanting to see her make a fool of herself, he quickly pulled out his phone and dropped a message in the rich heir's group chat, telling them to come over and enjoy the show.
