Too Good for You The Ex-Wife You Lost novel Chapter 84

At the diner, Hunter took the seat by the window with his back to Noelle and Alexis. He just had one of those looks and builds that were impossible to miss, so they spotted him right away.

Sitting across from Hunter was an adorable six-year-old girl. Wearing a pink dress, she took a sip of her soda and beamed at Hunter. "Thank you for having dinner with me, Dad. Can we do this again soon? Please?"

Alexis was a little surprised. The rumor going around training camp about Hunter having a family was true.

She subconsciously glanced at Noelle, who was totally unfazed. "Let's go somewhere else. We shouldn't interrupt them."

Alexis blankly nodded. Noelle seemed fine, but she had a feeling that Noelle wasn't really okay.

After they left, Bonnie tilted her head and looked toward the door. Hunter followed her gaze and turned around, but he didn't see anyone except the waiters. "What are you looking at, Bonnie?"

Bonnie grinned from ear to ear. "I just saw two pretty women, Dad. I was thinking how great it would be if one of them were my mom."

Hunter was speechless.

He sighed in resignation. "Alright. How about you finish your dinner first?"

Bonnie giggled at him and went back to eating her food.

The car ride back to camp was silent. Alexis didn't speak, and the vibe was just off.

Alexis was on pins and needles, watching Noelle's expression. Her reaction annoyed Noelle. "Just speak your mind. What's wrong?"

She couldn't hold it in anymore. "Do you like Coach Haberkorn, captain? I get the feeling he likes you back. What's the deal between you two?"

Noelle shot Alexis a look. She never took Alexis for the prying type, but she wasn't really trying to hide things. "I have feelings for him, but I'm not looking to start anything right now. My career comes first."

But she wasn't about to touch the subject of Hunter's private life. Even though he had never once mentioned having a kid to her, she figured he must have his own reasons for keeping it to himself.

She had a hard time believing he would hit on her if he was already seeing someone. Even after six years apart, she refused to believe he was that kind of man.

But she wasn't about to share that with Alexis. That was between them.

Her furious look drew quite a crowd of onlookers. The way she played the innocent victim made everyone turn and look at Noelle. Even Alexis looked worried.

Noelle locked eyes with Hazel. "Are you sure you want to know the reason?"

She sneered. "You made up all that crap in the group chats. When you accused me of seducing Coach Haberkorn, you also destroyed his marriage. You even used anonymous accounts to back up your own story. Are you going to admit it or not?"

Hazel's pupils shrank. As she recalled what she had done, her lips quivered. "T-That's not true at all."

Noelle's tone was cold and hard. "You took sneaky photos of me, spreading lies about me and Hunter going to hotels together. You love posting those misleading pictures in the chats. Don't try to deny it."

People started looking at Hazel differently. Who knew she was the one behind all this?

Noelle continued, "You've been making up stories about me and Hunter since I first got here. You were just trying to make people jealous and stir up drama. Are you going to own up to it or not?"

Nicola had been listening from a few feet away. When she heard that, her eyes were filled with anger. It turned out that it was Hazel behind all this mess the whole time.
