After speaking, Stefan turned away and left angrily.
Cole let out a small sigh of relief.
However, Kieran's next words immediately made his heart clench again.
"Let's go see Faith."
Stefan clearly wasn't giving up on the idea of an arranged marriage. Since he couldn't get through to him, Kieran decided to talk to the other party involved.
Cole wanted to ask why he was meeting her but knew it wasn't his place to question.
After locating Faith's whereabouts, they set off.
The Moore family owned businesses in Northridge, and she was currently there for an inspection. When she saw Kieran, she was visibly surprised.
She led him to her office and asked, "Would you like something to drink?"
"No need. Let's talk," Kieran replied, his voice cold.
Faith nodded and poured him a glass of warm water.
"Go ahead."
She wondered if Lila had mentioned their meeting the other day to him. She had indeed spoken out of line, but did that really warrant bringing a man to back her up?
It seemed Lila wasn't as strong-willed as she appeared.
A faint, mocking smile tugged at the corners of Faith's lips. "What do you want to talk about?"
"The arranged marriage."
Hearing this, she was momentarily taken aback.
"You…"
FlyScape was Morgan Group's latest drone project, originally set to launch in April this year. However, due to the company's current instability, some of its key components had been seized by customs, likely delaying the release.
If another party got their hands on this technology, they might be able to launch on schedule.
But this core technology had cost hundreds of millions of dollars and had taken the research team nearly a year to develop. The project was expected to generate at least 200 million dollars in returns.
To give it away for the sake of an unnecessary marriage?
This Moore family heiress was even more ambitious than he had expected.
Faith looked at him and laughed again. "I was joking. Don't take it seriously. But I do have a proposal I'd like to discuss with you."
Kieran nodded, signaling for her to continue.
"I don't understand why you're so against this marriage. Just for the sake of your so-called lover? Do you really think love is more important than your future?"
Seeing his expression turn even colder, she quickly continued, "My proposal is that we pretend to go along with the marriage. I'll help you get through Morgan Group's crisis, and in return, you help me escape the Moore family's control. What do you think?"
