Too Late, Mr. Cooper: Your Bride Ran with Your Baby novel Chapter 111

Old Mr. Cooper’s question made Liliana pause.

If she had known the truth sooner, would she and Linton still have reached this point?

Liliana believed the answer was yes.

“Grandpa, the problems between Linton and me… they can’t be explained in just a few sentences.” Her expression was complicated, her lips pressed into a thin line. “Isabella was just the biggest trigger for our conflicts.”

“But even without that trigger, other issues, big and small, would have become the breaking point. My grandfather was right. Our personalities are just not compatible.”

Liliana was still grateful to Linton for giving her so many wonderful memories in her youth. Although not all of them were happy, they had once made her feel cherished. A forced relationship could never be sweet. She and Linton had been forcing it for years, and they had reached their limit. Continuing would only bring misery to them both.

So, it was time to stop. It was better to part amicably and preserve the good memories than to let things turn bitter.

Taking a deep breath, Liliana composed herself. “Sir, I am truly grateful that you told me the truth today. It allows Linton and me to have a clean break.”

Old Mr. Cooper’s heart ached for her. “Liliana, Linton… he still has feelings for you.”

He couldn’t bear to see her go and wondered if there was any way to salvage things between the two young people.

He tried to persuade her. “Let me talk to Linton again. And his mother… if you don’t like her, I’ll send her abroad to live with Linton’s father.”
