Too Late, Mr. Cooper: Your Bride Ran with Your Baby novel Chapter 115

Linton’s tone was absolute. He had lost his patience. The fear of truly losing Liliana was consuming him, and he desperately needed something to hold onto, something to keep his girl from leaving.

Liliana frowned, trying to pull away, but found herself held fast. Linton gripped her delicate white wrist tightly, as if afraid she would vanish the moment he let go.

She let out a short, sharp breath and scoffed, “Stop being crazy, Linton. I’m under no obligation to do what you say. It’s my body, and you can’t force me to get a check-up.”

“I have every right,” Linton retorted, his grip tightening. His voice was cool and commanding. “If you are pregnant, that child shares half my blood. I am the father, and I have a right to know.”

“And what if I am pregnant?” she challenged.

“Then you’ll have the baby. I’ll marry you. I’ll take care of you both.”

“And your sister? Your mother?” she pressed, her voice calm, as if merely stating facts. “You saw what happened today. No one in this house wants me here except for your grandfather. You say you’ll marry me, but can you cast aside the mother who gave you life, and the adopted sister whose parents saved you?”

“You can’t,” Liliana answered for him.

Suddenly, she laughed. “You’re a man with a great sense of responsibility, and that’s a good thing. But your heart is too crowded, Linton. You can’t let them go. And my world is too small to let anyone else in.”
