“We’re just friends from the program. Stop overthinking things and just relax and enjoy your retirement,” Liliana said. “If you’re really that bored, I’ll buy you a cat or a dog to keep you busy.”
Mrs. Hart’s expression changed, and she shot her daughter a light glare. “Always making fun of your mother. Fine, I won’t say any more. You don’t listen anyway, and you’ll just get annoyed with me.”
Mrs. Hart waved a dismissive hand, deciding to drop it. Her children had their own minds; no one listened to her anyway.
Liliana gave her a tight hug and smiled. “Alright, Mom, don’t be upset. I’ll bring you back a present from my trip.”
Mrs. Hart smiled, successfully placated. As she left Liliana’s bedroom, she received a call from an unexpected person.

Linton pursed his lips. “Liliana blocked my number. She blocked me on WhatsApp, too. I can’t reach her.”
“...”
Mrs. Hart almost burst out laughing. She gave her daughter a mental thumbs-up before clearing her throat, feigning difficulty. “Linton, Liliana isn’t here with me...”
“Mrs. Hart,” Linton interrupted her calmly, “I’m right outside your house.”
“...”
“I saw Liliana go home with my own eyes.”
“...”
