Too Late, Mr. Cooper: Your Bride Ran with Your Baby novel Chapter 139

Liliana booked her flight for two days' time.

Linton tried to contact her again, saying he wanted to talk, but she simply ignored him. She truly felt there was nothing left to say.

After getting her affairs at the company in order, she prepared to leave with Aiden for the conference.

As she was packing at home, her mother came in for a chat.

Mrs. Hart helped Liliana fold her clothes and place them in the suitcase. "Liliana, did you know Linton sent his mother abroad?"

"I know," Liliana said, her eyes on her task. "His mother came to make a scene a few days ago. Linton showed up unexpectedly and took her away."

Mrs. Hart was surprised. "Mrs. Cooper caused trouble for you? Liliana, why didn't you tell me about something so serious?"

"Are you alright? Did she do anything to you?" Mrs. Hart asked, her voice laced with worry. She knew exactly how difficult Mrs. Cooper could be.

Liliana smiled reassuringly. "Mom, I'm fine. I'm standing right here, aren't I?"

"Linton arrived in time. She didn't get to escalate things before he took her away."

In truth, Liliana was also a bit surprised. She hadn't expected Linton to actually follow through on his word and send Mrs. Cooper away.

Mrs. Hart sighed heavily, a note of regret in her voice. "Liliana, to be honest, I really think Linton cares for you."

"He genuinely wants to make things right this time. Sending Mrs. Cooper away was his proof, his olive branch."

As she spoke, Mrs. Hart carefully watched her daughter's expression.

Liliana knew her mother was testing the waters. Without looking up from her packing, she said, "Mom, don't overthink it. There's no chance of us getting back together. We're not right for each other."

That was what Mrs. Hart had been hoping to hear.
