Someone in front of him blocked his path, annoyed. "Hey, hey, wait your turn! No cutting in line."
Linton stopped. He stared intently at Liliana's slender back, his fists clenching at his sides.
His face cold and silent, he turned, passport in hand, to get his ticket and join the queue.
Liliana and Aiden boarded the plane, one after the other. She had no idea that someone had followed her all this way.
The thought of being abroad, finally free from all the drama and able to enjoy some peace, made her close her eyes in contentment.
Aiden looked down at her, curled up in her seat like a little kitten, and couldn't help but smile. He handed her a pillow. "Liliana, if you're bored, you can take a nap."
"I'll wake you up when we get there."
"Okay, thank you, Aiden." Liliana nodded and let out a yawn.
She was indeed tired.
Perhaps it was the pregnancy, but lately, she never seemed to get enough sleep.
It had been two months now.
Liliana drifted in and out of consciousness, her warm fingers instinctively resting on her still-flat abdomen.
She had heard that a baby bump usually starts to show after the third month.
By that count, she wouldn't be able to hide it for much longer.
As she finally slipped into a deep sleep, she had a fleeting thought.
If this trip abroad went well, maybe she would just stay here for her pregnancy.
She could wait until after the baby was born to return home.
After all, this was her child, and no one could take that away from her.
...
Five hours later, the plane landed smoothly.
