Too Late, Mr. Cooper: Your Bride Ran with Your Baby novel Chapter 191

Liliana’s whole body locked up.

She truly hadn't expected it to be her brother...

In that case, things were far more serious than she'd thought.

After all, her own brother had said so.

“Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”

Liliana held out her hand, her expression cold and impassive. “Phone.”

Linton obediently retrieved her phone from inside the house and handed it over.

Taking it, Liliana began dialing without looking up, her voice dripping with disdain.

“It’s the same thing every time. I have to drag every single word out of you. If I don’t ask, you just keep it bottled up. How have you not suffocated yourself yet?”

Linton hung his head like a large dog that had been caught misbehaving, not daring to make a sound. He only risked a few furtive glances in her direction.

Liliana paused mid-sentence, a thought striking her as odd.

She knew Linton too well.

A realization dawned on her, and she let out a sharp, humorless laugh before kicking his knee again.

“You bastard. You were twisting his words, weren’t you? What exactly did my brother say?”

Whatever it was, it definitely wasn’t an order for this animal to be in charge of her safety abroad.

Caught, Linton rubbed his smarting knee and turned his head away, a reluctant grimace on his face.

His voice was tight and muffled, but if one listened closely, a hint of jealousy could be detected in his cool tone. “He said you should stay abroad for the time being.”

Linton paused, his expression darkening with even more reluctance, almost disgust. “He’s sending someone else to take you in and handle your security.”

As soon as the words were out, he rushed forward, wrapping his arms around Liliana’s slender waist. He gently nuzzled her pale neck with his hair, his eyes pleading as he tried to coax her.

“Liliana, I can protect you. We don’t need anyone else, okay...?”

“Not okay.”

Liliana’s rejection was ruthless.
