Liliana was taken aback. “Brother, what do you mean by that?”
Gabriel’s voice was calm. “The Cooper family is completely finished. Old Mr. Cooper went off to his country estate in Serenya to recuperate long ago.”
“After Damian Cooper took over the Cooper Group again, he’s been systematically targeted. The group is declining day by day. Our Hart family has our own network, and someone tipped me off.”
“They say Damian Cooper can’t hold on in Crownport any longer. He’s planning to flee the country before the New Year to lick his wounds and wait for a chance to make a comeback someday.”
Liliana had never been involved in the intricate power struggles of Crownport.
These matters had always been handled by Gabriel for the Hart family.
As the pampered princess of the family, Liliana had never needed to worry about such things.
So, when Gabriel started explaining, she just felt confused.
“Brother, simplify. In plain English, please.”
Gabriel: “...”
He couldn’t help but let out a soft chuckle. “It means the situation in Crownport should stabilize before the New Year. You can come home. You won’t have to worry about anyone trying to harm you.”
That was wonderful news.
A smile slowly spread across Liliana’s lips.
Just before hanging up, Gabriel asked, seemingly nonchalantly, “So, I heard from Mom that the animal jumped off a building for love?”
“How is he? Dead yet?”
Gabriel’s words were far more venomous than hers.
Liliana’s expression dimmed, and her tone cooled. “No, he just broke his leg. He’s perfectly fine.”
Gabriel made a “tsk” sound.
“Well, I guess he’s lucky.”
His indifferent tone was laced with what sounded suspiciously like disappointment.
Liliana said nothing, not wanting to discuss Linton any further.
There was, however, another matter that piqued her curiosity.
