Too Late, Mr. Cooper: Your Bride Ran with Your Baby novel Chapter 251

Linton was trapped in a long, long dream.

In it, he wandered the empty, silent corridors of a hospital.

The air was cold, oppressive, and dark.

He could hear someone crying.

The mournful, whimpering sobs sounded like a kitten, and they were painfully familiar.

But this was different from the soft, playful crying he knew—the kind that was always a plea for coddling and comfort.

The sobs echoing from behind the tightly shut door of the emergency room were different.

They were shrill, desperate, agonizing, and bitter...

A torrent of negative emotions swirled together, forming a monstrous net that enveloped him, trapping him so tightly he could hardly breathe.

Linton froze for a moment.

Then, in a frantic panic, he broke into a desperate sprint, his long legs carrying him toward the closed emergency room door as if possessed.

With a loud thud, his hand, already cut by shards of glass, slammed against the door, leaving a series of shocking, bloody handprints.

“Liliana, Liliana!”

Linton shouted, his mind reeling.

His eyes were red, unable to bear the faint sound of the woman’s crying from behind the door. His heart felt like it was about to explode.

He hammered on the door, but it wouldn’t budge. He trembled all over, yelling anxiously, “Liliana, is that you in there? Please, answer me...”

“Liliana, don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid... I’m right here. Linton is right outside. Liliana, I’m here, don’t be scared!”

Linton’s cool voice was raw from screaming, and by the end, he was nearly sobbing.

He cried, his body shaking uncontrollably, as he pounded his blood-soaked hand against the emergency room door again and again.

His knuckles were a mangled mess of flesh and blood, worn down to the horrifying sight of stark white bone.

On the other side of the door, the familiar crying continued, growing fainter, more desperate.

Linton wept as he struck the door. His knees gave way, and he slowly sank to the ground, his head bowed in defeat, his voice a broken plea.

“Please... whoever is in there, please open the door. Let me in. My Liliana... she’s scared. She’s waiting for me...”

“Please, let me in. Liliana needs me. She’s crying, my Liliana is crying, she... she’s crying!”

Linton’s voice was so hoarse and shattered he could no longer form words.
