Lynn’s eyes widened in disbelief, and she swallowed hard. “Whoa! Azure Tide? The seafood buffet that costs a fortune per person?! I heard only the rich and famous can get in, and even they have to book a reservation way in advance. Mr. Grant, are you serious? You’re taking all of us?”
There were at least a hundred employees in the company. A single dinner there could easily cost tens of thousands of dollars.
Aiden’s lips curved into a gentle smile. “When have I ever lied to you?”
Lynn was so moved she looked like she was about to burst into tears. She wanted to hug him and cheer at the top of her lungs.
The other employees were just as thrilled. A prestigious place like Azure Tide was somewhere they might never get to experience in their lifetimes if not for their vice president’s generosity.
Liliana felt a little awkward. “Aiden, that’s too expensive for you to pay out of pocket. Let the company cover it.”
Aiden looked at her, his smile warm. “I can afford a little treat like this, Liliana. Don’t argue with me. Think of it as a token of my appreciation. Everyone has worked so hard these past six months. As the vice president, it’s only right that I treat you all at the end of the year.”
With him putting it that way, Liliana couldn't refuse. Looking at the refined and handsome man before her, she couldn’t help but wonder.
What was Aiden’s background, really? She had known him for years but had never once thought to ask.
Liliana had always subconsciously assumed his parents were ordinary, middle-class professionals, perhaps academics. After all, Aiden possessed a scholarly, gentle aura that suggested he was raised in a cultured, intellectual family.
But seeing him now, so effortlessly generous, treating them to a dinner that would cost a small fortune, and at a place like Azure Tide, which required connections to even get a reservation...
