Liam was taken aback. It was the first time Liliana had ever called him by his first name.
The girl’s clear, pleasant voice was like a cool spring flowing into his ears, seeming to possess a magical quality that instantly washed away all his frustration and gloom. Liam's gaze softened, and he slowly lowered his eyes. An almost imperceptible smile touched the corners of his lips. Then, as if remembering something, he frowned again, still hesitant. "Liliana..."
Liliana blinked, her voice gentle but firm. "Trust me."
Liam was silent. He couldn't refuse her. When she asked him to trust her, his instinct was to do just that. It was almost a reflex.
He lowered his long lashes and took a slight step back, discreetly clearing the way. He pressed his lips together and said in a low voice, "I'll go with you."
He wasn't looking at Mrs. Grayson; he was speaking directly to Liliana.
Liliana nodded with a smile. "Okay."
...
And so, the group set off. Mrs. Grayson, wanting nothing to do with Liam, took a separate car.
