Martha nodded quickly. "Then I'll make lunch light as well."

Carrying the tray downstairs, Martha happened to run into Linton in the living room.

He glanced at the barely touched breakfast, his brow furrowing deeply. "Why did she eat so little? Did she not like it?" he asked in a low voice.

Martha stood awkwardly, saying with some embarrassment, "Ah, it's my fault. I've been relying on you to cook so often that I'm not sure what the miss likes to eat during her pregnancy. I made something that didn't suit her taste."

Linton lowered his lashes, deep in thought for a moment before his cool, clear voice came out, raspy. "From now on, I'll do the cooking. You just bring it up to her and say you made it."

Martha was taken aback. "Oh... th-that..." she stammered.

"If you don't say anything and I don't say anything, she'll never know," Linton said flatly. "Liliana is due in two months. We need to be especially careful during this time. We can't let her or the baby lack nutrition."

Martha thought it over and realized he was right.

Although the miss never said it, Martha could tell that she was most comfortable eating the food Mr. Cooper made. After all, she had grown up with his cooking. Even if she despised him now, her stomach was long accustomed to it.

The next morning.

Martha brought the tray up, a cheerful smile on her face. "Miss, you're awake."

Liliana was still drowsy, her eyelids drooping as she let out a yawn.

"Martha," Liliana said softly, rubbing her eyes. "You don't have to bring it up to me every day. It's too much trouble. I can just go downstairs to eat."
