Too Late, Mr. Cooper: Your Bride Ran with Your Baby novel Chapter 63

Liliana wasn't in the mood to argue with him anymore.

She tried to pull her hand free, her face a blank mask. "This isn't up to you."

"Ha."

Linton let out a low, furious laugh. The fingers gripping her wrist trembled uncontrollably. His deep-set eyes narrowed. He could see this wasn't one of her usual tantrums; she was serious this time.

A sudden wave of panic washed over him.

Linton’s jaw tightened. They stood locked in a standoff, both stubborn as mules, neither willing to be the first to back down. After a long moment, Linton’s expression softened slightly. He forced a smile. "Alright, I'll pretend I didn't hear that."

"Come on, I'll drive you to the new house."

He gave a gentle tug, his warm, strong hand tightening around her wrist, trying to lead her away. He turned his back to her, unable to meet her eyes, and stretched his lips into a smile, feigning a casual air.

"Weren't you upset that Logan messed up our old house, so you sold it?"

"Well, I bought a new one a while back. Bigger and better. There’s a river near the community; we can go for walks, maybe do some fishing."

"Linton."

Liliana’s quiet voice cut him off.

She looked up at his tall, imposing back, her tone perfectly level. "What's the point of saying all this now?"

Linton’s spine went rigid.

He clenched his jaw so hard a vein throbbed at his temple. His eyes swirled with a gloomy emotion. He refused to turn and see the expression on her face. The corners of his eyes were tinged with red as he stubbornly continued, his voice cool.

"After you sold the house, I had someone go over and document the layout. The new place has been decorated exactly to your old design."
