Too Late, Mr. Cooper: Your Bride Ran with Your Baby novel Chapter 76

Liliana's gaze softened.

Pull herself out?

Her hand, still cool to the touch, trembled as she placed it over her belly.

The doctor was right.

Liliana lowered her long, thick lashes.

She didn't need to get stuck on this. She could have a good life. She didn't have to let everything fall apart.

All she had to do was leave Linton.

All she had to do was leave the source of her pain.

...She would get better.

Back at the hospital, Isabella held Logan in her arms, finally breathing a sigh of relief as his fever broke.

She looked up, her eyes shining with gratitude at the tall, distinguished man beside her. "Thank you, Brother," she smiled. "Thanks to you running around with me, he's okay. If I had been alone, I don't know what I would have done."

"This is my first time being a mother, you know," Isabella continued, her gaze softening as she gently stroked Logan's small face. "When Matthew passed, I was so worried I wouldn't be able to take care of our son."

"But with you here to help me, I suddenly feel like I can do this."

Linton leaned against the wall, his hands in his pockets, his posture exuding a cool, noble air like a proud pine in the snow. He was preoccupied, not really listening, and offered a perfunctory, "Mm."

"If something like this happens again, call Mom. I'm busy. I won't have time for this in the future."

Isabella's eyes immediately reddened, her gentle tone hiding a note of wounded pride. "Is this because of Liliana?"

"I've always thought of her as my sister-in-law. Brother, if she's misunderstood something, I can go talk to her."
