Chapter 86: Like it were his birthright

Chapter Eighty-Six

Ahmet didn’t waste a second before pushing her down, his body hovering over hers. His hands pressed into the sheets beside her head, caging her in. His breath was uneven, matching hers, their chests rising and falling in sync.

His lips crashed against hers with a force that stole her breath... in all heat and desperation. There was nothing gentle about it. No hesitation, no restraint.

His fingers dug into her waist, pushing himself against her as if closing the space between them would silence the jealousy raging inside him.

His kiss was rough, and punishing. Her hands fisted in his hair, nails biting into his scalp as she kissed him back just as fiercely, pouring every ounce of anger, frustration, and unspoken desire into the clash of their mouths.

She tore her lips from his to catch her breath. His grip on her waist didn’t loosen, fingers still pressing into her like he wasn’t ready to let go. Like he couldn’t.

She looked up at him, her lips swollen from his kisses, but her glare had not softened. "You think this fixes anything? Do you think this would change the fact that you pointed a gun at me?" she challenged, her voice low and uneven.

He smirked, dragging his thumb across her bottom lip. "No," he admitted. "But it took your mind off it for a while, didn’t it? Me too. But trust me, I will find out about him."

Was he still on about who Demir was?

She growled in frustration, shoving at his chest, but he didn’t move. His weight was solid and unyielding. He caught her wrists, pinning them above her head with one hand.

"Let me go, Ahmet," she seethed.

His grip tightened just slightly, his gaze burning into hers. "You really want me to?"

She opened her mouth to snap back, but no words came out. Because she didn’t want him to. She wanted to fight him, to curse him, and to make him feel the rage she had been holding onto since the moment he pointed that gun at her.

But she also wanted him.

And that pissed her off even more.

Ahmet saw it. The flicker of hesitation, the way her body arched toward his despite the venom in her words. His smirk widened. "That’s what I thought."

Before she could fire back, he kissed her again— harder this time, more demanding. His free hand roamed down her side, fingers grazing her bare skin, making her shudder. She hated how easily he affected her. How, no matter how much she tried to fight it, her body always betrayed her first.

"You are mine," he murmured against her lips. It must have taken everything in him to not have said that earlier.

She bit his bottom lip hard enough to make him hiss, but he didn’t pull away. If anything, it only made him more eager. "I belong to no one," she shot back.

He chuckled darkly, pressing his body flush against hers. "We will see about that."

The room filled with the sound of heavy breathing, the rustle of fabric being stripped away, the low growls and breathless sighs as they gave into everything they had refused to acknowledge to the other.

It wasn’t soft. It wasn’t gentle.

It was a battle: it always had been that to them.
