Chapter 136
Adrian understood my meaning: “You rest well, leave this matter to me.”
After he finished speaking, he called for a doctor to examine me again. After confirming I was fine, he bid me farewell and left..
Not long after, Ferris came over, and Adrian was already gone.
Evan came with Ferris. At that time, a nurse was changing ny medication, so they didn’t enter the room but stood talking outside in the hospital garden.
I couldn’t hear their voices, but through the window I saw Evan asking Ferris: “How could there suddenly be a car accident? Have you found the vehicle and person responsible?”
Ferris should have told him about how he sent me to the hospital after my accident, but Adrian had found the perpetrator first.
Eran seemed quite surprised: “This person has some capabilities, actually able to get ahead of you.”
Ferris didn’t respond, but suddenly asked him: “What do you think of him compared to me?”
Hearing this, my heart skipped a beat.
Evan paused, then replied subtly: “No matter how capable he is, within Silver Moon pack, you still have the final say.”
Ferris didn’t seem particularly pleased by this response.
Cold wind blew, bringing light rain, and I saw his shoulders move slightly.
Then he said: “Do you know? After her accident, the first person she contacted wasn’t me, but him.”
Evan was obviously stunned, taking a moment before saying “Maybe he’s better at coaxing people.”
Ferris didn’t refute, nor did he continue this topic, just said flatly: “It’s getting late, you should go back.”
Evan seemed somewhat reluctant, hesitating before saying: “Alright.”
Before leaving, he looked back toward my hospital room.
After a while, Ferris came to outside my room. I had just finished changing my medication, and when I looked up,
our eyes met.
At that moment, I was somewhat stunned.

Chapter 136
His suit today was neat but somewhat wrinkled, and there was even some stubble on his chin.
Ferris had always been most particular about his appearance, almost never allowing himself to be disheveled in the slightest. This was the first time I had seen him looking so “down and out.”
Seeming to notice I was looking at him, he walked in and said softly: “I had someone send breakfast over.”
He didn’t mention Adrian, just glanced at the suit jacket I had placed aside, then pulled out a chair and sat beside me.
I noticed that when he pulled the chair, there were several scratches on the back of his hand..
“Your hand?” I asked softly.
Ferris’s hands had always been beautiful–clean, slender, with distinct knuckles–but now they had so many additional scars.
“It’s nothing, just minor injuries,” he said lightly.
I didn’t think deeply about it, completely unaware that these were left when he broke the window to rescue me.
“The doctor said you were the one who sent me to the hospital. Thank you.” I glanced at him, not mentioning Adrian to avoid making him angry.
Ferris looked at me, his expression softening: “You’re my partner, sending you to the hospital is what I should do.”
He paused, wanting to say something, but before he could speak, I immediately said: “It was an accident.”
I knew how much he cared about Ashley. If I told him the truth, I was afraid he would instinctively protect her.
He stared at me for a few seconds, ultimately not questioning my explanation.
Breakfast was quickly brought in, and we ate together.
After eating, he didn’t leave but opened his laptop to work in the hospital room.
