After saying this, he spun around abruptly, carrying intense disappointment, and left without looking back.

Ferris deliberately slammed the door to make a loud noise, as if expecting me to chase after him.

I pretended not to hear and continued packing my luggage.

I had important matters to attend to this afternoon.

Half an hour later, the director of Silver Moon Medical Center looked at my transfer application in surprise.

“Aurora, are you sure you want to transfer to Black Mountain Medical Center?”

“I know you have opinions about this year’s promotion to director, but that was the Alpha’s personal decision after all. How about this–let me mediate for you again…”

I smiled slightly and shook my head: “Thank you, Director, but I’ve already made up my mind to leave.”

Seeming to sense my determination, the director sighed and signed his name on the resignation report.

This was expected.

I nodded to show my understanding.

At noon, my phone suddenly rang–an emergency call from the ER attending physician.

“The hospital has received a group of warriors who reportedly encountered a pack of rogues at the border and were injured in the ensuing battle.”

‘One warrior is critically injured and must be handled by you personally.”

My heart jolted. I immediately changed into scrubs and rushed to the emergency corridor.

The critically injured patient had a significant identity–from a noble family in the pack, pure bloodline, recently nominated as a candidate for sentinel captain.

What surprised me most was that Ferris was also there.

He wore a black military uniform, still stained with dried blood, standing in the crowd cold as a blade.

Seeing me appear, he walked straight over, his voice low but carrying undeniable authority.

Ferris looked down at me, his tone as cold and controlled as always: “Regardless of what our relationship is right now, I request you–do everything you can to

I met his gaze for a moment, said nothing, only nodded and walked into the operating room.

At that moment, red lights flashed on the monitors, alarms blaring continuously, the patient’s heart rate and blood pressure dropping rapidly.

The atmosphere in the operating room was tense. The anesthesiologist, assistant doctors, and nurses were all in position, but their expressions were anxious and uneasy.

Ashley was also standing to one side.

She had just returned to Silver Moon Pack when Ferris arranged for her to enter this hospital as a director.

While others quickly prepared emergency protocols, she seemed lost beside the operating table.
