My words made Ashley’s face darken.

“Maintain anesthesia, prepare the electrocautery.”

I had already begun disinfecting my gloves, my gaze never leaving the surgical area.

“Monitor intracranial pressure changes. I’ll clear the hematoma and stop the bleeding.”

The other medical staff immediately took their positions, following my commands to join the rescue effort.

Ashley bit her lip: “Should I stay to help?”

“All non–essential personnel, out.”

I had already seen that Ashley staying here would only be a hindrance.

“But…” Ashley mumbled.

‘Dr. Carter, this isn’t something you can handle.” I remained expressionless. “If you really want to help, go comfort the patient’s family.”

Many medical staff in the room were already showing impatience with Ashley. Everyone was already on edge.
