Under the Veil I Rule novel Chapter 314

"I just found out a bit about Dorian and Elysia's situation. Elysia's had a rough time these past few years. Were you in the same boat as her during those three years?" Finnian's question caught Amara off guard, leaving her unsure of how to respond.

Emotionally, she wanted to say she'd struggled, but in reality...

Finnian lifted her chin gently, making her meet his gaze, waiting for her answer. The gesture was a tad intimate, drawing some glances from nearby guests. Amara quickly stepped back, nudging his hand away and muttering softly, "Sort of. I mean, I couldn't get what I wanted back then, but that's all in the past."

Finnian shook his head, unable to let it go. He had feelings for Amara; how could he just move on?

"It was my fault back then. I put you through a lot," he said, his voice low and resonant like a cello, making Amara's heart flutter.

Why did Finnian have to do this? They had no ties anymore, yet he insisted on stirring her emotions...

As Amara felt her thoughts spiral, she suddenly spotted someone, and all those chaotic emotions vanished, replaced by a smirk.

Finnian followed her gaze and saw Hogan and Liliana walking in together, his expression turning sour. "What are you doing here?"

"Bro, I brought Liliana along to the party. Jessica sent me an invitation," Hogan explained, wary of Finnian's temper and eager to show he wasn't crashing the party.

Finnian's face darkened. Jessica had really gone all out, sending invites to Hogan too. Her ambitions were clear.
