As Amara spoke, Morgan watched her closely.
So it really was a marriage of convenience. There were no feelings left between them, otherwise, how could she be so calm?
Morgan served Amara some more food. This was the third time he'd done so, and each time he first asked what she liked before placing it on her plate. He was not only a gentleman but also thoughtful and attentive.
Anyone with eyes could see that Morgan was quite taken with Amara.
“Mrs. Emma Everly, your table is this way. I’ll show you.”
A waiter approached Emma with a warm smile and began to lead their party further into the restaurant.
At that moment, Finnian noticed Amara and Morgan at a nearby table. His gaze hardened.
Wasn't that Morgan, the son of Hogan Bishop and the vice president of the Bishop Group? What was he doing sitting face-to-face with Amara?
While the Bishop family couldn't compare to the Everlys, they were still a first-class family in Wye. Amara shouldn't have any reason to associate with them, especially not with a man from the family.
Besides, he and Amara had been quite familiar with each other, and he'd never heard her mention knowing Morgan.
When Emma and the others saw Finnian stop and stare in one direction, they followed his gaze and were stunned to see Amara and Morgan sitting together.
How on earth did Amara and Morgan, two people who couldn't be more unrelated, end up having a meal together?
“What are you two doing?”
Finnian couldn't just stand by and watch. He strode over to their table, his eyes darting between Amara and Morgan as he asked in a low voice.
Amara glanced at Finnian.
She had anticipated he would see her when his group entered the restaurant, but she never expected him to come over and speak to her.
“Mr. Everly, hello. I didn't expect to see you here. Ms. Sullivan and I were introduced by my grandfather and Mr. Kevin Everly. We’re just here to get acquainted. Are you here for a meal with your fiancée's family?”
He glanced pointedly at Liliana and her parents, who were waiting behind Finnian.
Introduced by Mr. Kevin Everly and Mr. Bishop Sr. to get acquainted? Wasn't that just a blind date?
Finnian's eyes darkened instantly, and an oppressive aura radiated from him.
He glanced at Morgan's outstretched hand and scoffed, “Who do you think you are? What gives you the right to shake my hand?”
As soon as he spoke, the surrounding area fell silent.
Amara was furious. Finnian had never been a saint, but he had always maintained a certain level of politeness and decorum. He would never lash out at someone without reason. What was wrong with him today? Had he lost his mind?
