Under the Veil I Rule (Amara) novel Chapter 515

Amara’s expression didn't change. “Mr. Everly only has eyes for Ms. Porter. Why else would he be marrying her? As for what just happened, he was just having a sudden fit. I have no idea what brought it on.”

It was a flimsy excuse. Anyone with eyes could see how much Finnian cared for Amara.

But if he cared for her so much, and there was no scandal attached to her name, why wouldn’t Finnian be with the woman he loved instead of marrying Liliana?

Could it be that Finnian had confessed his feelings, but Amara didn't reciprocate? Even so, that didn't explain why he had to marry Liliana.

Morgan didn't press further. “Shall we continue eating? We can leave after we’re done, or would you prefer to leave now?”

Morgan was very respectful of her wishes. Amara glanced over at Finnian’s group, who had settled at a table farther away. “The food has already been served. It would be a waste not to eat it. Let’s eat.”

“Alright.”

Over at Finnian’s table, everyone had also sat down to eat. The conversation was almost entirely dominated by Emma and Liliana.

Jenny and Ethan Porter tried to chime in several times, but they barely got a few words out before Liliana kicked them under the table.

Liliana shot them a look, warning them to keep quiet. Frustrated but compliant, Jenny and Ethan fell silent.

Emma was also busy under the table, repeatedly kicking Finnian to get him to say something.

Unfortunately, every time she kicked him, Finnian would glare at her with icy eyes, making her so uncomfortable that she had to stop. She could only force a smile at the curious Porters and go back to her food.

After the meal, Finnian and Emma drove the Porter family home. Once the car was finally quiet, Emma’s temper flared.

If she didn't, well, there was nothing he could do about that.

Seeing that Finnian was still hopelessly fixated on Amara, Emma gritted her teeth. “Don’t you forget what I told you. If you don’t get your act together and keep pining for that little bitch, I’ll…”

“You dare touch her.”

Finnian turned his head, his eyes bloodshot, looking like a bloodthirsty demon. The sight startled Emma.

The mother and son stared at each other in the cramped, tense space of the car. Emma’s eyes widened as fear welled up inside her, her heart pounding wildly.

She quickly regained her composure and slammed her hand on the armrest. “What is the meaning of this? I am your mother! How dare you yell at me? Are you threatening me now?”
