Under the Veil I Rule (Amara) novel Chapter 517

Finnian, seemingly oblivious to his own irrationality, pressed on. “Mr. Bishop Sr. is the same age as you, isn't he? Around eighty? The fact that he hasn’t retired to enjoy his golden years says it all, doesn't it?”

“Mr. Bishop Sr. isn’t someone who clings to power. It’s obvious his successor isn’t qualified, so he can’t step down.”

“Morgan isn’t as capable or impressive as you claim. You don’t need to make excuses for him.”

Mr. Kevin Everly rolled his eyes, too tired to argue. “Your opinion doesn’t matter. I’m looking for a partner for Ama. As long as Ama thinks Morgan is good, then Morgan is good.”

“But…”

“No ‘buts.’ It’s not like Morgan has a criminal record or some major flaw.”

“His character, looks, and abilities are all top-notch. I consider Ama my own granddaughter. Do you think I would introduce her to someone unsuitable?”

“If you have such a problem with Morgan, then you go find someone suitable for Ama and introduce them. Ama isn’t getting any younger. It’s time for her to settle down.”

*The old master is actually telling Mr. Everly to find a match for Ms. Sullivan himself? Isn't that like twisting a knife in his heart?* Lisa thought, keeping her head down as her mind whirred.

Finnian’s voice was grim. “Amara is only twenty-five. She’s in no rush to find someone. Besides, she doesn’t have to get married. What era is this? Not everyone needs to get married.”

Mr. Kevin Everly nearly laughed out loud. “Is it really Amara who doesn’t want to get married, or is it you who doesn’t want her to get married?”

“Alright, alright, you don’t need to explain.”

Seeing Finnian about to speak, Mr. Kevin Everly waved him off, clearly not wanting to hear it.

“In any case, if Ama doesn’t like Morgan, she won’t date him. I’m just giving her a chance to meet him, not forcing her into anything. The decision is entirely hers.”

“If you know any good men, introduce them to Ama. Otherwise, stay out of it. I’m going to sleep. You can leave.”

Finnian walked up a few steps to stand in front of her. “Are you going to date Morgan?”

“We’re just getting to know each other for now. Whether we’ll date or not is uncertain,” Amara said coldly.

Of course, she had no intention of dating Morgan, but remembering how Finnian had interfered during the day angered her. She refused to give him the satisfaction.

A surge of anger and heartache rose in Finnian.

“Morgan isn’t the best choice,” he said, his hands clenched into fists. “You could wait.”

Amara shot him a sideways glance. She found Finnian truly bizarre. He acted as if he liked her and didn’t want her to be with other men, yet he himself had chosen Liliana.

Since he had chosen another woman, why did he care if she dated someone else? It was incredibly unfair.
