Finnian lifted his chin arrogantly. "I can guarantee it. Whether at the company or at dinners and parties, almost no woman dares to do that to me. The few clueless ones who try are escorted out by my bodyguards before they can even get close."
While Finnian attracted many women, his demeanor was so cold that even those who liked him didn't dare approach him. So, over the years, he truly hadn't encountered many women trying to pursue him or throw themselves at him.
Amara gritted her teeth. She wanted to say it was only because he was too cold for anyone to dare, but she knew there was no point. She had almost let Finnian sidetrack her.
Even if she and Keith weren't just faking it and were actually getting married, what business was it of Finnian's? What right did he have to criticize their lives?
She grabbed Finnian's wrist. "Mr. Everly, come with me." She forcefully pulled him away.
Finnian stared at the hand holding his, a faint smile touching his lips as he allowed Amara to pull him into the second-floor hallway.
No one was around, making it a good place to talk. Amara let go of him, her face cold. "Mr. Everly, being with Keith was a carefully considered decision. We've known each other since we were kids. I know him better than you do, and I'm willing to trust him."
"You don't need to come here with all this nonsense. I'll make my own decisions about my own life."
The smile vanished from Finnian's lips. He looked at her intently for a moment before taking a sudden step forward. Caught off guard, Amara stumbled back, her back hitting the windowsill.
Finnian instinctively placed his hands on either side of her, trapping her. From a distance, it looked as if he was pinning her against the window.
He was already a good half-foot taller than her, and now he was leaning over her, his presence overwhelming. Amara instinctively crossed her arms in front of her chest and frowned. "Mr. Everly, what are you doing?"
Yes, what was he doing?
