I won't break your relationship with Darleen.
How ironic the sentence was from Elinor's mouth. She walked away, leaving Victor and Darleen in place with mixed feelings. Victor turned angry when he realized that Elinor's about to leave. "Stop her."
Elinor paused and looked back unbelievably. "What did you say?"
"So what?"
Victor gained on Elinor like Darleen wasn't here, witnessing everything. Elinor was scared and had to step backward. The exit was ahead. But every time she almost reached the freedom, she would be pulled back by him to the hell.
Elinor was actually fearful.
But she had to pretend to be brave, so that she could face him.
"Since I can dress you up, of course, I also can—" he drawled, "Hide—you."
When Darleen behind him heard his words, she turned nervous and scared. What was Victor's plan?
When Elinor was about to shake off his hands, someone came from the entrance at a rapid speed, and he saw their confronting and walked straight to them.
Then he swatted Victor's hand away hard.
Victor startled.
"You know why I came here, right?"
Rutledge angrily held Elinor behind him. His eyes were full of anger. "Victor, how shameless you were to do such things!"
"You mean that international conference?"
He took a deep breath. "I was invited, too, but I didn't want to go there at first, so I didn't send out a reply. I also have an invitation letter."
She was surprised. "Were you also invited?"
"That's right." Rutledge gnashed his teeth, looking back to warn Victor. But considering Victor's threat before, he only warned him with his menacing eyes. "I'll take Elinor away, Mr. Donald."
Victor remained cold. "You can try it."
"What will you do? Victor, stop it." When they confronted, Darleen deliberately interrupted them to seek attention. "Let's not fight. We're friends! Rutledge, shall we go to the conference together?"
