Chapter 174
Chapter 174
Half an hour later, Serena rushed to the hospital after getting the news.
The surgery had just finished, and the doctor walked out of the operating room with a sigh, shaking his head. “The patient isn’t in life–threatening danger
but his leg is badly injured.
for now,
“With this kind of fracture, he probably won’t be able to run or jump normally for the rest of his life.”
Serena had just arrived when she heard those words, and her breath caught in her throat.
The doctor continued, “I’m sorry, we did everything we could, but the child is so young. Th circumstances. Whether he’ll be able to walk again depends on how well he recovers.”

Serena coldly glanced at Eliza, shook off Victor’s arm, and walked over to slap her hard across the face.
The sharp crack echoed through the hallway, leaving Eliza stunned. When she finally snapped out of it, she immediately looked to Victor with pitiful eyes.
Victor knew Serena must be devastated right now, but he couldn’t let her take it out on Eliza just because Leon got hurt. He frowned and stepped in front of Eliza protectively. “Serena, I know you’re heartbroken about Leon, but this has nothing to do with Ellie.”
“Nothing to do with her?” Serena’s eyes flashed with bitter sarcasm. She’d originally thought Victor was just playing favorites with Eliza, but now she realized he was completely clueless.
‘How could Eliza possibly care about our kids?‘ Serena thought. When Leon got hurt, only he and Eliza were home. Serena refused to believe Leon would just randomly fall down the stairs for no reason.
Eliza looked away guiltily and ducked behind Victor, her voice shaking as she whispered, “It’s my fault, Vic. Don’t be mad at Serena. Leon’s dealing with the aftermath now, and as his mother, she must be feeling terrible about it.”
Victor heard this and became even more convinced that Serena was just being unreasonable. He looked up and saw nothing but cold fury in Serena’s beautiful, gentle eyes.
“Eliza, do you dare swear on the child in your belly that this has nothing to do with you?” Serena asked.
Eliza’s body trembled. Serena let out a cold laugh. “If Leon’s leg got broken because of you, then I hope your child is born disabled.”
Such vicious words coming from Serena’s mouth shocked Victor. For a moment, he felt like he didn’t even know her anymore. “Enough!” he shouted.
