Unwilling Trophy Wife (Serena and Victor) novel Chapter 259

Chapter 259

Keith was efficient. When Serena went to work the next day, she barely noticed anyone following her.

If Keith hadn’t told her his people were already in place, she would’ve truly thought there was no one following her.

“Just put up with it for a few days. I’ll take care of Daniel, too, and then you won’t have to be so cautious,” Keith said.

He’d already sent his men to investigate Daniel’s shady businesses. The country was cracking down hard on this kind of thing. If they could put a full chain of evidence in front of the police, Daniel would probably get a longer sentence than Winnie.

The results came quickly.

Daniel’s casino was fully shut down. Even though Keith hadn’t shown his face when providing evidence, Daniel wasn’t stupid. The only people he’d crossed recently were Keith and Serena.

Serena was at work as usual when Daniel stormed into Brannon Creative Group. A colleague warned her right away, and she hurried after him.

Daniel pushed through the crowd all the way and burst into the CEO’s office.

“Keith, this is going too far,” Daniel roared. “Winnie’s still locked up, and I don’t even know what her sentence will be. Now, you’re going after my company, too?”

Keith looked up slowly from his papers, wearing a puzzled expression. “Mr. Banks, your company is perfectly fine, isn’t it? Which one of your companies did I go after, exactly?”

Daniel had the words on the tip of his tongue, but suddenly realized he couldn’t mention the casino in front of so many people. Otherwise, it wouldn’t just be one casino going under. He might even end up in jail.

Serena had walked into the office by then. James immediately shooed out all the other colleagues who’d been watching, then closed the office door.

“Quit playing dumb. I know you did this.” Daniel ground out. “Serena wasn’t even hurt. Now, you’re coming after me like this. Even a cornered rabbit will

bite.”

Finally, Keith set down the papers in his hand. He lifted his eyebrows, his gaze as cold as ice that had frozen for millennia, so piercing that Daniel didn’t

dare meet it.

Keith said, “I have only one demand. From now on, don’t disturb our lives again. Winnie’s case is non-negotiable. But as for your company and reputation, Mr. Banks, you’d better really be willing to throw them away for her.”

Hearing that, Daniel took a deep breath. Insults hovered on the tip of his tongue, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t get them out.

Serena thought, ‘Yes, he truly dotes on her daughter. But is he willing to give up everything for Winnie? Can he actually do that?’

The moment Serena saw Daniel hesitate, she knew they’d almost certainly got him cornered.

Daniel asked, “If I stop bothering you, you’ll leave me alone?”
